Abstract: A hand manipulated dual controller assembly for use with action video games. It has a base with a trackball type controller mounted in one recess in the top surface of the base and a joystick type controller mounted in another recess in the top surface of the base. By using the joystick controller, the player can separately move the action video game character in any desired direction and by using the trackball controller allow the character to look with his eyes in any desired direction. The top surface of the base surrounding the trackball type controller is convex and it allows a player's cupped hand to rest on the top of the base while that hand is actuating the trackball controller and the surrounding buttons. That hand also stabilizes the position of the base and prevents the base from being pushed around when the player uses the joystick controller with his other hand.
Abstract: A honing device for culinary knives having a handle assembly formed of a knob portion mounted on the top end of a vertically oriented handle portion. An inverted frusto-conical knife guide is connected to the bottom end of the handle portion. The elongated hone is preferably tubular and it is connected to the bottom end of the knife guide. A coupling inserted into the bottom end of the tubular hone has a rubber friction tip mounted on its bottom end. An elongated draw bar rod has external threads on its top and bottom end. The top end of the draw bar rod passes through aligned bores in the knife guide and the handle portion and is received in a threaded bore in the bottom of the knob portion. The bottom end of the draw bar rod is received in the threaded bore in the top end of the coupling that has a rubber tip in its respective bottom end. The honing device is light weight and easily assembled and disassembled.
Abstract: A pump action shotgun that has been designed to accept a shotgun shell magazine that can be quickly and easily attached or removed. An aperture is formed in the bottom surface of the receiver forwardly of a trigger housing assembly aperture. The top end of the magazine has a feed lip assembly that restricts the upward travel of the shotgun shells prior to their being transported to the rear end of the gun barrel by the bolt assembly as it travels forwardly. A spring loaded tang extends downwardly from the front bottom surface of the bolt assembly and travels through the feed lip assembly where it engages the rear end of the upper most shotgun shells and carries it forwardly to the rear end of the gun barrel. A bolt slide that is detachably secured to the bottom surface of the bolt assembly has a concave bottom surface that allows it to travel forwardly and rearwardly over the top of the feed lip assembly of the shotgun shell magazine.
Abstract: A floating reservoir cover tensioning system that eliminates unsightly towers that are mounted on the upper surface of the surrounding containing walls of a reservoir. A plurality of tensioning assemblies are mounted in cases supported on the top surface of the surrounding containing wall of the reservoir at predetermined spaced intervals to assure that the tension forces are equally distributed. Each of the tensioning assemblies has a combined structure of a cable drum and a storage drum journaled on a bearing extending up from a mounting plate. A pair of laterally spaced spring motor drums are also journaled on their respective bearings extending up from the mounting plate. One end of a first coiled-band spring is secured to one of the spring motor drums and its opposite end is secured to the storage drum. A second coiled-band spring has its one end secured to the second motor drum and its other end secured to the storage drum.
Abstract: A recoil system for the butt stock of a firearm having a recoil suppressor assembly whose front end is mounted in the cavity in the rear end of the butt stock. The piston ram of the recoil suppressor assembly in its static position extends rearwardly into a bore hole cavity of an elongated recoil housing. When the firearm is shot, the elongated body portion of the recoil suppressor assembly and its transversely extending mounting flange portion instantaneously travel rearwardly into the bore hole cavity with the bore hole of the body housing reciprocally traveling over the piston ram. An extension coil spring whose front end is secured to the front end of the body portion and whose rear end is secured to a cam assembly returns the elongated body portion to its static position once the recoil of the firearm has been suppressed.
Abstract: A motion picture film platter assembly having a base, an upright oriented post and at least three vertically spaced support arms. A hub-shaped case is supported on the top surface of each of these support arms. A cylindrical platter having a central bore hole is journaled on an external annular flange of the hub-shaped case and the upper cylindrical wall of the hub-shaped case passes through the bore hole of the circular platter. Each platter has its own drive motor for rotating it. A modular film feed-out unit is removably positioned in the bore hole of one of the circular platters. The film feed-out unit has a top plate and mounted at predetermined positions thereon are a pair of 35 mm or 70 mm film idler rollers and an upright oriented film proximity sensor that is laterally spaced from an upright oriented first keeper roller.
