  • Patent number: 7971623
Abstract: A window frame assembly for installation within a garage door having front and rear exposed surfaces and one or more window openings. The assembly includes front and rear window frame members of injection molded plastic which are installed within the door opening on the front and rear exposed surfaces. The window frame members have alignment elements to assist in assemble and have engagement elements located about their peripheries which snap together in mating fashion to mount the frame members within the window opening. The engagement elements are adjustable to accommodate garage door panels of varying thicknesses and window panes of varying thicknesses. The engagement elements are also disengageable with a hand tool to separate the frame members and remove the members from the window opening.

  • Patent number: 7960978
Abstract: A method is shown for providing status detection, in particular leak detection, in a pre-insulated pipeline for the transportation of media, in particular, steam or hot water. The pipeline has an inner medium-carrying pipe, a surrounding heat-insulating layer of bonded foam, and an outer protective polyolefin jacket. A special length of polymer coated wire is included as a part of the normal bare conductor wire which is used as a part of the electrical sensing system of the pipeline and is used to by-pass various obstructions in the foamed insulation of the pipeline. The insulated length of the coated wire is heat fused at points of egress and ingress through the outer polymeric jacket with the compatible materials of the coated wire and jacket forming a water tight seal.

  • Patent number: 7845686
Abstract: A restrained pipe joining system is shown comprising male and female ends each having aligned circumferential grooves which form a canal for passage of a locking key strap. During manufacture, the female belled end is sequentially formed over a Rieber style gasket and then over a ring shaped casing member having an inner circumferential groove formed on its inner circumferential surface. Preferably, the ring shaped casing has circumferentially spaced teeth that act as a pipe stop in cooperation with an outer circumferential groove on the male spigot to index the pipes to be coupled.

  • Patent number: 7837450
Abstract: A water well pump is shown which uses regenerative turbine technology. A submersible electric motor has an output shaft which drives multi-stage regenerative turbine stages of the pump. The various stages are made up of turbine impellers separated by intermediate plates. The turbine impellers have peripheral vanes which cooperate with surrounding scraper rings to form flow channels through the regenerative section of the pump and impart energy to the water passing through the pump. The pump can be powered by a low energy source, such as a solar panel.

  • Patent number: 7819207
Abstract: A mobile oil, gas and geothermal well drilling rig provides for the rapid placement, assembly, disassembly, and repositioning of various rig components of the drilling rig. The drilling rig includes a support base and working floor which is trailerable and which can be rapidly erected to a working height at the well site. A drawworks trailer transports both the drawworks and the rig derrick. Hydraulic cylinders on the drawworks trailer are used to move the derrick from a horizontal, transport position to a vertical, working position while the weight of the derrick is off-loaded from the drawworks trailer to the base support structure.

  • Patent number: 7815225
Abstract: A combination sealing and restraint system for an as-cast ductile iron fitting is shown for both sealing and preventing separation of an iron pipe fitting and a mating male pipe. A ring-shaped body is installed within a mating groove provided in a mouth region of the as-cast fitting after the fitting has been cast at the manufacturing plant. The ring-shaped body carries a gripping member with teeth on an inner surface thereof which are initially angled away from an outer surface of a mating male pipe. The teeth are forced into engagement with the exterior surface of the mating male pipe as the pipe joint at the fitting is assembled. The teeth are oriented to allow movement of the male pipe in a first direction relative to an end opening of the fitting during assembly, but to resist movement in a opposite direction after the fitting joint has been assembled. The ring-shaped body also includes a relatively flexible portion formed of an elastomer which forms a sealing member with the mating male pipe.

  • Patent number: 7810574
Abstract: An apparatus is shown for installing a pulling a submersible pump from a well bore where the pump is supported on a length of flexible tubing. The apparatus has a pivot frame located on a transportable base frame. A take up reel for the flexible tubing is also supported on the pivot frame by a pair of pivoting support arms. The take up reel is centered over the well bore by pivoting the reel on the support arms between a collapsed and a vertical work position. The reel can be further centered by pivoting the pivot frame in a horizontal plane relative to the base frame.

  • Patent number: 7810266
Abstract: A graphic design consists of graphic elements such as text, logos, images and texture. On the front surface of transparent substrate, a white translucent copy in the form of chosen graphic elements in the design (such as text) is applied, so when viewed from front is right-reading. The complete original graphic design is then applied in register onto the front surface, so that the parts of the design that were copied onto the front surface first come directly onto contact with that copy. A white copy in the form of the other areas (the graphic elements that were not copied onto the front) is applied onto the back of the substrate (i.e. the side facing away from the viewer) in register with the rest of the design (in reverse, so when viewed from front is right-reading). Further copies of this one may be applied behind it (i.e. on the back) to increase its opacity. A light-source is placed behind the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7786362
Abstract: A musician's pick having a pick body made up of both a pick portion and a gripping portion. The pick portion and gripping portion are angularly oriented with respect to each other in a predetermined manner. The predetermined angular orientation between the pick portion and the grip portion of the pick allows the pick portion to engage the strings of an instrument being played in a generally perpendicular relation despite the normal, parallel relation between the strings and the longitudinal axis of the musician's thumb.

  • Patent number: 7774915
Abstract: A sealing gasket is shown for use in a ductile iron piping system to form a sealed joint between mating male and female pipe ends. A sealing gasket body is provided with a series of retainer inserts which extend outwardly from a leading nose region of the elastomeric gasket body. The mating male pipe end contacts the retainer inserts prior to contacting the remainder of the gasket body during the make up of the pipe joint. The inserts help to retain the gasket within its associated groove during high pressure field conditions. The inserts are spaced circumferentially about the gasket nose region, allowing the gasket the necessary flexibility to allow insertion within the groove provided in the female, belled pipe end.

  • Patent number: 7759809
Abstract: An apparatus and method are shown for improving the efficiency of motors, generators and machines by using a closed ferromagnetic frame upon which is mounted a plurality of solenoid coils. Two of the solenoid coils are wired together so that they act as one in a closed wiring circuit. An associated armature assembly includes a carousel which carries additional solenoid coils and is rotated through an opening provided in an extension to the closed frame. The individual solenoid coils located on the carousel supply power to the two original solenoid coils on the ferromagnetic frame giving the basic circulation system amplification each time a solenoid enters the electric/magnetic field created by the frame uprights.

  • Patent number: RE42419
Abstract: A chinrest pad system designed to hold a standard chinrest used with a string instrument that minimizes dampening of vibration and prevents damage caused by the metal components touching the edges of the instrument. The system includes pads located under the support surface of the chinrest member and on top of the lower lip plate used on the lower clamping member. The pads are specifically designed to partially engage the instrument's upper and lower edges and match the curvature of instrument surface immediately adjacent to the edge. Each pad also includes a rear extending lip that bends slightly around the upper or lower edge and extends rearward to prevent the metal rods used with the turnbuckles from contacting the rear surface. During assembly, the pads are positioned over the upper and lower edges so that the compression forces exerted by the support surface and the lower lip plate are centrally located over the sidewall transverse axis, thereby minimizing dampening of vibration.
