Abstract: A servo control device comprises a motor and continuously acting friction device, which is coupled to the output shaft of the motor and arranged in a housing having an aperture through which the motor output shaft extends. The housing is mounted so as to float radially in a mounting which is provided for it in a casing. Resilient tongues are provided so as to act between the housing and the mounting. The invention is particularly applicable to the motorized servo control of a clutch.
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a carrier disc for clutch friction pads comprising a central portion and radial blades. Each blade is joined individually to the central portion by a generally radial blade foot, and is cantilevered asymmetrically from either side of this foot. Each blade is divided into zones by transverse shoulders. For a given diameter, the terminal zone of that portion of the blade that is cantilevered to the greatest extent with respect to the blade foot, and which is intersected by the endmost shoulder, is joined to the central zone by a second foot.
Abstract: This relates to a hydraulic brake system particularly adapted for use in conjunction with large rotating masses. The system includes at least two calipers which are widely spaced. In accordance with the system, there is positioned adjacent each caliper a solenoid valve and there is at each valve a constant supply of hydraulic fluid under pressure so that when the valve is actuated there is an immediate supplying of hydraulic fluid under pressure to each caliper. The arrangement permits an early response time as compared to systems wherein the system must be pressurized from a remote source.
Abstract: This relates to a composite closure which incorporates the conventional closure of the press-on, twist-off type including a metal shell having in the center of an end panel thereof a tamper indicating button. The composite closure includes an overcap which is frictionally interlocked with the shell and wherein the shell has been modified so that the curl at the lower edge of the skirt thereof is outturned as opposed to being inturned and the rougher coating for receiving the sealing compound increases the frictional connection between the overcap and the metal shell. In addition, the overcap is provided with a tamper indicating band which is interlocked with the container finish so as to prevent both axial upward movement and circumferential movement of the tamper indicating band relative to the container finish.
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for forming multiple layer preforms wherein the various layers may be varied as to number, material, thickness and position in the preform by controlling the injection of the specific materials as to timing, quantity and rate of delivery. Most specifically, a featured aspect is the ability to simultaneously deliver to an injection nozzle and through such injection nozzle into a preform mold cavity two or more molten plastic materials simultaneously. This is possible by way of a multiple gate nozzle and a plurality of separately operable metering pots all controlled by way of a timing device. The timing device may also control the rate of the dispensing an individual material from each of the metering pots.

Abstract: A laminated container blow molded from an extruded parison wherein both the parison and the resultant blow molded container are of a multi-layered construction. Most particularly, the parison is provided with a thin outer gloss coat which maintains the clarity and gloss of the resultant container so as to provide the container with a glass-like appearance. In the forming of the parison, the thin gloss coat is extruded with the remainder of the parison and is bonded to the remainder of the parison by an adhesive layer. The thin outer gloss coat is particularly effective when a relatively thick intermediate layer of the parison is formed of reground scrap containers. Usually the relatively thick intermediate layer is formed of a blend of the reground scrap containers and virgin polypropylene.
Abstract: In a torque transmission, particularly for an automotive vehicle, of the kind including a hydraulic coupling unit and a locking clutch, the latter comprises essentially a piston and a clutch plate, the piston being mounted slidably on a hub to enable the friction pad to be gripped. The piston is coupled with the clutch plate through profiled coupling.
Abstract: A box of the wrap around type for bottles and like products. The box is readily formed from a substantially rectangular blank while maintaining a bottom panel thereof in a flat state and folding front and rear panels upwardly with the front and rear panels carrying end forming panels which, when joined together, complete the box. The bottom panel will also have at opposite ends thereof end forming panels which either may be full height and tucked between the end forming panels carried by the front or rear panels, or in the form of glue flaps which will be disposed externally of the end forming panels carried by the front and rear panels.
Abstract: A control unit for verifying the functionality of the pilot lamps installed on the instrument board of an automotive vehicle is proposed, wherein a central control unit continuously monitors the functional condition of the devices monitored by the pilot lamps and wherein by means of hand-operated actuation device, the functionality of the pilot lamps can be verified also while the car is running.

Abstract: The connector (20) for optical fiber conductors is of the type used in order to connect two conductors (3) respectively leading to a fixed unit and to a mobile unit with each other. The connector (20) comprises a male element (21) and a female element (22) which unite with each other by a spring-like coupling along the axis of connection (15) of the connector. The female element (22) comprises a sleeve portion (25) and is free of performing translational movements on a perpendicular plane relatively to the axis of connection (15), but is not free to rotate around the axis.
Abstract: A seal and trimming gasket is proposed having a substantially .omega.-shaped section, formed from a fixing web and two wings which are substantially of C-shaped section and are connected to the sides of the web. The free lips of the two wings are partly superposed so that on closing the door, the projecting lip of the first wing is lowered and is retained directly by the door edge and also by the projecting lip of the second wing, this lip also being bent by the door edge.

Abstract: The stratiform product in sheet form for packaging purposes comprises at least one impact-resistant film, made e.g., from a closed-cell foamed polyethylene, and a layer constituted by an elastomeric mass endowed with properties of selective and repetitive adhesion. Between this impact-resistant film and the layer of elastomeric mass, a support for this latter layer can be provided, which is constituted, e.g., by a non-woven fabric or by a plastic film. The product for packaging purposes protects the packaged articles against the impacts and the environmental agents, keeps said packaged articles fixed in a predetermined relative position and makes it possible inspections and/or checks to be carried out, with the initial integrity of the package being subsequently restored.
Abstract: A spacer for use in a branching electrical connector comprises two jaws and clamping device for clamping the jaws together. At least two parallel channels are defined by the jaws, the spacer being adapted to hold one of the channels temporarily at least partly open. Overridable abutment on the spacer yield when sufficient force is applied to the jaws by the clamping device to enable the temporarily open channel to be closed.

Abstract: In the proposed steering device a drive shaft is operationally connected to the front wheel steering mechanism and to a driven shaft by way of motion step-down means; the two shafts are provided with respective cranks, and with respective pins which engage in a link element operationally connected to steering levers for the rear wheels.
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a double damped flywheel of the kind having springs (40), at least one damper plate (30) and guide rings (17, 18). The double flywheel is characterized by a phasing device having thrust pads each of which is interposed circumferentially between two consecutive ones of the resilient springs, the phasing device being mounted for free rotation with respect to the guide rings. The damper plate is centered directly or indirectly by one of the guide rings or by the damper plate in such a way as to divide each of the resilient springs into two operative elements. The double damped flywheel further comprises inserts mounting the resilient springs pivotally on the thrust pads.

Abstract: This relates to an improved tamper band construction for use in conjunction with closure caps for locking beneath a retaining bead on a container neck finish when the closure cap is removed to indicate rotation of the closure cap. The tamper indicating band is provided with a plurality of flaps which are initially molded in a radially inwardly, axial downwardly directed position and then are folded upwardly to radially inwardly and axially upwardly directed positions where they are engagable beneath a container retaining bead. Most particularly, the plurality of flaps are joined in groups by connecting bridges so that each group of flaps pivot as a unit with the connecting bridges stretching and providing an over center snapping action to retain the flaps in their operative positions after they are folded to such positions.
