  • Patent number: 6282815
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sing the flow of fluid through tubes in the sole of shoes. The apparatus includes a pair of fluid filled tubes along the periphery of the sole of the shoe. One tube is connected to cross tubes that provide flow paths and cushions the for the ball and instep portions of the foot. The other tube is connected to cross tubes that provide flow paths and cushions heel portion of the foot. Adjustable pressure valves interposed between the fluid filled tubes permit a method of controlling the flow of fluid through the valves in one direction only. The pressure resistance of the valves are pre-set for a certain internal pressure level required for triggering the transfer of fluid from one tube to the other. The method include steps of controlling pressure resistance by adjusting valve pressure adjustment rings either in a clockwise direction about a rod for increasing internal pressure resistance, or in a counter-clockwise direction for decreasing internal resistance.

  • Patent number: 6061842
Abstract: The hand support device comprises a structure mounted to a bathroom wall over the commode or urinal. The support device comprises a generally flat base portion and a horizontally extending adjustable post mechanism attached to the base portion. Adjustable post mechanism is mounted between a palm contact substrate and a brace. The post mechanism includes a hollow horizontal tube having a horizontal rod adjustably disposed within the tube. The tube is formed with a plurality of apertures of a diameter for selectively receiving a spring-loaded pin formed on a surface of the rod to establish a plurality of hand support positions. One end of the adjustment rod contains a ball bearing embedded within a brace partially in the base plate thereby allowing the post to pivot about a vertical and horizontal axis.

  • Patent number: 5279557
Abstract: A multiple chamber IV manifold delivery device for controlling infusion of blood, medical drugs or other solutions to a medical patient. The manifold includes a transparent housing defining a set of drip chambers that communicate with a Y-site fluid reservoir that delivers fluid to a conduit line leading to a medical patient. The Y-site reservoir is provided with a flotation check valve. The manifold delivery device is operable to control the order of delivery of at least two fluid solutions from separate supply chambers to a medical patient. The flotation check valve is used to maintain one supply chamber in a sealed condition while another chamber supplies fluid to be administered to a patient. The IV manifold device is provided with exit and entry ports to enable the device to be coupled together with at least two other similarly constructed apparatus to thereby increase the time period for administering drugs of fluids to a medical patient.

  • Patent number: 4606204
Abstract: A lock opening method and mechanism for opening locks in minimum time while requiring very little skill on the part of the operator. The mechanism includes an adapter assembly, a tension arm and an oscillator unit. The assembly asserts rotary force to a lock cylindrical plug. This causes the lock pins to release and allowing the lock to be opened.
