  • Patent number: 6520174
Abstract: The cooking apparatus comprises a collection plate and a cooking plate. The collection plate overlie the heat source of a barbecue grill having a center surface with semicircular cross section and a curved lip. The curved lip deflects gases being released by the heat source back toward the heat source reducing flames. Extruded apertures are provided through the center. The extrusions extend oppositely from the concavity of the center to direct a portion of the secretions onto the collection plate. A fluid retention channel is provided about the center. The outer surface of the inner retention wall retains secretions on the center of the collection plate. The cooking plate covers the barbecue grill fire chamber and has a plurality of apertures. The terminal end of a curved flange mates with the inner wall of the barbecue grill. A back stop member is connected to the top of the cooking plate.

  • Patent number: 6503067
Abstract: A bladeless turbocharger is disclosed for use with an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes a drive shaft engaged with a bearing assembly that has a turbine driven by the exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine at one end and a blower driven by the turbine at the other. The turbine and blower have flat disks spaced at a critical distance apart with open circular centers that have spokes mounting them to the drive shaft. The critical distance between the turbine disks promotes the boundary layer drag effect of the exhaust gas against the turbine disks. The blower transfers rotational energy to air entering the critical distance between the blower disks by boundary layer drag effect of the air against the blower disks only. The energy transfer increases the mass per unit volume of the air that exits the blower through a blower outlet.

  • Patent number: 6484657
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system for controlling environmental conditions in connection with ceiling hatch use particularly on watercraft. The invention generally comprises a suspended support platform, a water diversion conduit cooperatively associated with a water exhaust aperture in the platform, and a water collection and containment structure for collecting and containing fresh water. The platform is suspended from a watercraft hatch for capturing and diverting water away from the watercraft hatch, yet allows continual airflow, heat exchange and filtered light to enter the hatched cabin. The platform is suspended so as to allow for easy removal of the platform from the path of egress through the watercraft. Manually adjustable baffle structures may be included at the perimeter of the platform to allow for prevention of wind blown rain from escaping the platform through the opening between the water collection receptacle and the underside of the watercraft deck.

  • Patent number: 6484431
Abstract: The present invention discloses a decoy apparatus with wind-driven rotatable wings. The rotatable wings are mounted on a shaft member, which extends transversely through a bird-like body portion. Head-on horizontal-axis rotor blades are integrally mounted on the rotatable wings for collecting and converting kinetic wind energy to rotational power in the shaft member. When collected and converted to rotational power, wind energy causes the wings, the shaft member and the rotor blades to rotate in unison through 360 degrees about a horizontal-axis of rotation extending through the shaft member. The wings and integrally-mounted rotor blades co-rotate in a clockwise direction or in a counter-clockwise direction depending on the wind energy being directed against the rotor blade members. The rotor blade members thus create wing movement in the wings and in the rotor blades for alluring game located vertically, laterally and longitudinally relative to the decoy apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6479767
Abstract: A weighing transducer is secured onto a fixed base. The fixed base is positioned in order to allow the weighing transducer to rest securely over a conveyor belt. An electrically actuated gripper is connected to the weighing transducer allowing the weighing transducer to accurately weigh any item freely suspended from the electrically actuated gripper. The conveyor belt works synchronously with the holding device in order to obtain an accurate weight reading by taking a no load weight reading prior to the weighing of each item to be measured. The conveyor belt delivers an item to be weighed to the electrically actuated gripper which in turn captures the item. When the item is delivered to the electrically actuated gripper, the conveyor belt stops. The item is captured by the electrically actuated gripper and the conveyor belt is lowered to a height sufficient to enable the item to be suspended freely on the electrically actuated gripper.

  • Patent number: 6473741
Abstract: A process that arranges information warehoused at individual accounting and tax preparation firms at a central location for the purpose of marketing information. Data contained at these firms have qualitative and quantitative characteristics that are different from data archived at the Internal Revenue Service or other tax authorities. This fact makes the data valuable as data in two ways. First the data can be exchanged to provide new revenue streams. Secondly, these data, if grouped into data warehouses of other firms, has value as pure data, not just customer lists. These data may be sold or rented creating additional revenue streams for their originators. The purchasers of this bulk data are interested in using this data in the field of data mining. Data mining is a technique of analyzing vast amounts of information to uncover relationships to predict events and has wide application in many areas of the economy.

  • Patent number: 6461033
Abstract: A portable mixing device for quickly and efficiently combining dry constituents with water to form a mix having a thin batter consistency and no unmixed material. Mounted on a wheeled, pivoting frame, a single individual can use the device to mix the material and pour it in the proper location. The device includes a cylindrical mixing drum and agitation tool mounted within the mixing drum. The agitation tool includes a motor and housing, a drive shaft, wiping assembly, and mixing assembly. The stationary wiping assembly, which extends downward into the mixing drum co-mingles so as to pass closely between and among the blades of the rotating mixing assembly such that the flexible edge portions of the wiping assembly blades are in intermittent contact with the blades of the mixing assembly. The “wiping” action of the wiper assembly on the mixing assembly insures complete and efficient agitation and mix of materials.
