Abstract: The invention provides an animal confinement pen comprising a front panel, a rear panel comprising a rear gate, a first side panel comprising a fixed front side panel and a movable rear side panel, and a second side panel; means to confine an animal against the first side panel with the animal's head extending through a head gate incorporated in the front panel; means to lock the rear side panel into substantial alignment with the front side panel adjacent the confined animal and to release the rear side panel allowing same to move away from the rear portion of the confined animal; means to move the rear gate away from the rear end of the confined animal; whereby all parts of the pen may be moved away from the rear end and a rear portion of the confined animal thereby allowing access thereto by the pen operator. A two-way gate provides operational advantages similar to those found in prior art pens.
Abstract: A device for producing and dispensing frozen confection is provided. At least one collapsible bag assembly is disposed within a refrigerated compartment within the dispensing apparatus and means are provided to collapse the collapsible bag and dispense the soft served frozen confection therefrom. Moreover, the frozen confection dispensing apparatus includes means to store frozen confection therein in collapsible containers prior to use.
Abstract: A load carrying unit for use along a predetermined conveying track including an endless moving conveyor chain. The load carrying unit is provided with a depending vertically movable conveyor chain engagement pin which is selectively movable between a conveyor chain engaged position coupling the load carrying unit to the conveyor chain so that the load carrying unit moves with the conveyor chain, and a conveyor chain disengaged position uncoupling the load carrying unit from the conveyor chain. The device for disengaging the movable pin from the conveyor chain includes an elongated pivotally attached horizontal bar extending transversely along the front end of the load carrying unit and spaced forwardly therefrom and engagable with a rear end of a downstream load carrying unit which pivots the elongated bar inwardly toward the load carrying unit.
Abstract: A protective shield or member is provided for the vertical door tracks of a delivery truck wherein the protective shield is generally an elongated substantially transparent C-shaped member constructed of a hard flexible plastic material.
Abstract: A smoking article includes a fuel rod coaxially aligned with and circumscribing two insulating tubes of different heat transfer coefficients wherein the inner most insulating tube is filled with an aerosol generating composition including flavor vaporizing materials therein.
Abstract: A material handling apparatus for selectively bulk filling or blend filling and concurrently discharging particulate material, such as reticulated tobacco and the like, into an open topped silo, bin, or hopper. The material handling apparatus includes a first shuttle car located over the open top of the silo for movement back and forth over the silo, a first belt conveyor on the first shuttle car in alignment with the direction of movement of the first shuttle car, a second shuttle car located over the top of the silo and above the first shuttle car for movement back and forth over the silo along a path parallel to the movement of the first shuttle car, and a second belt conveyor on the second shuttle in alignment with the direction of movement of the second shuttle car.

Abstract: A conveyor system for moving small particles of material from one location to another includes a flow diverter to divert the flow leaving a first conveyor to a second or third conveyor wherein one of the second or third conveyors is a reject conveyor to remove that material which includes foreign objects therein. The flow diverter is operated in response to a foreign object detection device which is operable in response to material moving along the first conveyor wherein the information obtained from the foreign material detecting device is received in a computer, wherein the computer actuates a piston operated air cylinder to move a perforated sheet member from one location to another so that the flow of material from the first conveyor or any part of the material leaving the first conveyor may be diverted to a reject conveyor.
Abstract: A conveyor system having at least two conveyor tracks for moving load carrying units to different locations within a facility in which the conveyor system is installed, includes a device for selectively engaging and disengaging the load carrying units to and from the conveyor tracks, and a device for selectively pushing the load carrying units out of alignment with one of the conveyor tracks and into alignment with the other of the conveyor tracks.
Abstract: A toothpaste composition contains a dentifrice base which includes at least a detergent and an abrasive or polishing agent, and a mixture of aloe vera and chlorophyll. The toothpaste composition is useful in preventing gingivitis, controlling plaque and stimulating the growth of new tissue while reducing the hazards of bacterial contamination.
Abstract: The shopping cart includes an infant seat and a safety belt restraint device for restraining the infant to prevent the infant from falling from the seat. The safety belt restraint device extends around the waist and between the legs of the infant to secure the infant in the seat.
Abstract: Low sidestream cigarettes having cigarette rods comprising paper wrappers including compounds of a type which effect a sidestream reduction of at least 30% when used on rods not exceeding 20 mm in circumference.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting and eliminating cigarettes having loose filter tips whereby the tobacco rod end of a filter cigarette is held in place and a pre-set separating force is exerted on the filter to see if the filter is secured properly to the tobacco rod; and, if not, the filter and tobacco rod are rejected. A rotatable, splitable drum assembly is provided with a first and second vacuum source and the rotatable, splitable drum assembly is splitable into first and second segments. The drum is provided with longitudinally extending grooves therein which continually extend onto the first and second segments. Each groove is sized to receive a filter tip cigarette therein and each groove is also in vacuum communication with the first and second vacuum source. The first segment of the drum is coupled with the tobacco rod end of a filter tip cigarette by the first vacuum and the second segment of the drum is coupled with the filter of the filter tip cigarette by the second vacuum.
Abstract: A tambour door includes a plurality of elongated elements having front and back surfaces of rectangular transverse cross-section placed in abutting side-by-side relationship including a flexible backing material overlaying and adhesively secured to the back surfaces of the elongated elements. The elongated elements are cut from a single panel formed of a wood composition board core having a thin veneer sheet attached to at least one face. The front surface of the elongated elements are formed with a design which extends over a plurality of adjacent elements. The design is pressed into the door, stretching and compressing the veneer rather than tearing it. The design depth can be approximately 11/2 times the veneer thickness. A cabinet including such tambour doors includes side pockets in which the doors move on tracks when the doors are moved to the open position. When the doors are in the closed position, they are planar and extend across the opening into the cabinet.
