  • Patent number: 8336744
Abstract: The flow limiting bottle cap secures to a container having a threaded neck and allows a user to select an open or a closed position without removing the cap from a container. Additionally fluid from within a container, when poured, forms multiple separate streams in laminar flow. The cap provides a pattern of conically shaped holes for passing of fluid. Each hole has edge conditions for adjusting the flow relative to pouring. The cap opens by raising an upper portion and closes by lowering the upper portion or by rotating the upper portion to expose the holes and closing by rotating oppositely to block the holes. Knurling upon the perimeter of the upper portion aids the user. An internal seal also excludes atmospheric communication to reduce spoilage of fluids within a container.

  • Patent number: 8261723
Abstract: A fuel return block has a body with a coaxial inlet and outlet generally perpendicular to the body, a return port communicating with an inlet, and a vent generally parallel to the inlet and the outlet while communicating with the return port. The inlet and the outlet have external threading for connection to a fuel tank and to a fuel line. A common space between the inlet, the outlet, the return port, and the vent has a particular geometry conducive to ventilation of the fuel return block but not allowing escape of fuel through the vent. The inlet secures to a manufacturer's fitting upon the fuel tank so no second opening is required. The fuel return block equalizes pressures of the inlet, the outlet, and the return port preventing tank damage and interruptions to fuel delivery from negative pressure.

  • Patent number: 8237556
Abstract: A system releases seat belts on school buses electronically via driver command or automatically by an inertia switch and electronic timer that then activate solenoids at each seat. This system operates on 12V direct current furnished by the load side of the bus's ignition switch. The system also has a level sensor that prohibits the system from energizing the solenoids when a bus equipped with the system does not have an upright position. The system provides a switch under each seat that notifies the driver when a child occupies it or a light at the dashboard. A second light flashes to notify the driver when the clip engages a buckle of each seat on a bus. The system allows for normal daily usage of seat belts and simultaneously releases the seat belts in an emergency.

  • Patent number: 7938374
Abstract: A portable clamp has a hinged, two piece arm that folds for storage within a hollow stem. A first arm hingedly connects to a second arm where each has a curved shell sized for gripping the frame of a bicycle. The first arm and second arm have cooperating holes to admit pins for securing the first arm to the second arm. Opposite the hinge, the second arm fits perpendicularly into the stem. A buckle secures a strap that passes around an object. In use, a cyclist releases the clamp from the stem. The cyclist places the strap around the upright object at a desirable height. The cyclist places the end of the strap in the buckle and cinches the strap. Using a pin, the cyclist secures the clamp within the stem. The cyclist places the arm around a bicycle frame member then secures a pin through the arm and into the stem. The bike is then supported at a convenient height.

  • Patent number: 7758021
Abstract: A tool has a cylinder with a pair of magnets, diametrically spaced apart upon the sides of the cylinder and of opposite polarity. In cooperation with a compass, the magnets identify the tool thus indicating its location when concealed prior to pulling wire through a house or other structure. The tool also spaces a bit extension tool away from interior faces of adjacent drywall panels. A setscrew secures the cylinder upon the shank of a bit extension for rotation of the tool. The magnets are integrated into the cylinder of the tool to survive ordinary handling, drilling through wooden structures, and rotation. The tool emanates a magnetic field from within a concealed location that deflects a compass for revealing the location of the tool.

  • Patent number: 7753886
Abstract: A medicine dispensing pacifier has a centered nipple upon a guard and a reservoir communicating through the guard to the nipple. The reservoir, opposite the guard, has a cap, and upon removing it, a caregiver places medicine into the reservoir. Then the caregiver returns the cap to seal the reservoir. The infant then suckles the nipple, ingesting the medicine drawn from the reservoir. Alternately, the pacifier includes an air permeable membrane, a flexible cap, for dispensing medicine under pressure through a nipple into an infant that has difficulty taking medicine. The infant then suckles upon the nipple and the caregiver presses upon the cap raising the flow of medicine through the nipple into the mouth of the infant. The cap augments the natural suckling of the infant with pressure and without spilling medicine.
