Patent number: 6119862Abstract: A package for a food product which includes a rigid tray formed from a single piece of malleable material having flanges located in a reference plane, first and second side walls, first and second end walls and a bottom all integrally joined. Integrally formed tabs are defined at the junction of the side walls and the bottom which extend generally in the plane of the side walls a predetermined distance. Some of the tabs with the peripheral flange form an upright display support permitting the package to be displayed upright with the front panel located in a vertical or near vertical plane facing forward. A hanging feature can also be incorporated into the rigid tray flange to provide peg-board display if desired. This can be accomplished with no added labor or material cost. A thin flexible film covers the tray in the reference plane and attaches to the peripheral flanges to hermetically seal the recessed compartment.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1997Date of Patent: September 19, 2000Assignee: Sara Lee CorporationInventor: Jeffrey K. Patent number: 6055674Abstract: A circularly knit hosiery member and garment formed therefrom and a method for producing both. The member has a first tubular portion with a lateral portion having a plurality of courses with short lengths. The garment is formed from a pair of the members disposed in a side-by-side relationship, slit along a part of their length and joined at paris of the edges thus formed to provide a panty section with front, rear and lateral portions. The lengths of the stitches in the courses in the lateral portions are shorter than the stitch lengths in the front and rear panty portions so that the panty section has an arcuately shaped leg profile within the lateral portions. The method includes forming the panty pantyhose combination garment from the two separate tubular members with the stitches in the courses of the lateral portions made smaller than the stitch lengths in the rear and front portions.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1999Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: Sara Lee CorporationInventors: Walter H. Imboden, Jonathan M. Myers

Patent number: 6053014Abstract: An arm warmer is formed from a circularly knitted tubular fabric member made up of a wrist cuff, a tapered arm portion, and a binder portion. The fabric member is knitted with nylon, nylon covered spandex, and wicking yarns of various configurations for the wrist cuff, the arm portion, and the binder portion, to form an arm encompassing sleeve that can be maintained on the arm of the wearer that will provide warmth and increase blood circulation at the commencement of use, and which can be rolled down the arm and maintained thereon in a rolled condition when a sufficient body temperature has been reached.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1998Date of Patent: April 25, 2000Inventor: Shane Cooper

Patent number: 6027756Abstract: A method of forming a natural appearing miniature bone-in ham and a miniature ham formed by the method, the method including trimming a small quantity of ham pieces to remove fat, injecting the ham pieces with a cure solution and macerating and tumbling the injected pieces for a predetermined period of time. A portion of the ham pieces are then placed into a miniature ham stuffing horn or mold, and a substitute bone is precisely positioned into the treated ham pieces by making an appropriately located incision. The balance of the ham pieces is then added to the stuffer or mold in a manner to prevent movement of the positioned substitute bone and the generation of voids. The ham and encapsulated substitute bone are then stuffed into a miniature casing or mold and cooked in a conventional manner.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1998Date of Patent: February 22, 2000Assignee: Sara Lee CorporationInventors: Richard S. Patent number: 5749682Abstract: An apparatus for transporting stockings, socks or other sensitively responsive goods by means of air having a principal conduit member and a plurality of selectively closable auxiliary conduit members. The auxiliary conduit members are connected to the output of one or more productions means such as knitting machines. A slidable tubular insert is carried within the principal conduit member and moves from an opened and closed position to open or close an opening in the principal conduit member and permit a formed article to move within. Both the article collecting device and secondary conduit member communicate with the principal conduit member to collect a quantity of articles therein. A work station directing device is formed within the elongated conduit member to collect articles individually and discharge them in groups thereafter. An additional tubular insert member is held within the principal conduit member to open and close the secondary conduit connected directly to a work station.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1996Date of Patent: May 12, 1998Assignee: Renfro CorporationInventor: J.
