Abstract: A hair dye product is packaged in a container having a web-printed label. The label is printed on high quality paper or plastic film and has a picture of a human model whose hair is the color sought to be obtained by the hair dye. The printing process provides an accurate reproduction of the tone and hue of each hair color over the entire production run of the labels. The container may be a relatively low cost generic container of web-printed paperboard or plastic produced in a high volume production run.

Abstract: In a method for oxidatively dyeing hair, a pretreatment which comprises contacting hair with an aqueous solution of an effective amount of particular metal/chelate complexes followed by treatment with oxidative dye mixtures is disclosed. The process serves to conform the oxidative dyeing rate of virgin hair to that of the normally noncongruent rate of nonvirgin hair, so as to enhance the efficiency of the oxidative dyeing process, without reducing the intensity or variety of color available.

Abstract: A process for dyeing hair by preparing and thereafter applying to the hair an aqueous reaction medium comprising dopa and an oxidant, said aqueous reaction medium further containing at least one hair dyeing agent selected from the group consisting of primary intermediates and couplers and also containing a buffer to maintain the pH in the range from 6 to 10 during the reaction, and removing said aqueous reaction medium from the hair within about one hour following its preparation.

Abstract: Quaternized monoalkylenediamine nitrobenzene compounds of general formula ##STR1## wherein one of Z or Y is the quaternized group ##STR2## the other of Y or Z being H, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or hydroxyalkoxy when it is not said quaternized group, and the use of said compounds in the dyeing of keratinaceous fibers.

Abstract: An ergonomic trigger sprayer comprising a spraying mechanism including a nozzle and a trigger for connection to a container holding the liquid; a housing having a mounting portion for attachment to the container, the housing enclosing the spraying mechanism when mounted to the container and having opposed front and rear ends, and a hand positioner affixed to the rear portion of the housing. The hand positioner is for providing pressure contact with the dorsal web of the hand of a user between the thumb and the index finger when the user grips the container and pulls the trigger so that the container and the hand and wrist of a user are held in substantial alignment during spraying operations. The hand positioner includes a bottom wall that is in pressure contact with the dorsal web of the hand of the user during spraying operations.

Abstract: A unitary blank for erection into a package for display and also the erected package which holds, for example, a disassembled mop including a mop head and a mop handle. One embodiment of the blank, and by extension the package, comprises a rear panel, a first side panel, a front panel, a second side panel, and a side flap bondable to the inner surface of the second side panel, with the panels and the flap being foldable about lateral fold lines, so as to define a compartment having opposed openings. The rear panel defines an aperture for receiving and holding the flanges of the mop head. The blank includes folds and cuts for a pocket integral with the front panel and one of the side panels in which will be positioned the mop handle within the erected package. A top flap integral with the rear panel extends above the front panel and has a hole for receiving a hook of a display rack. The blank includes folds and cuts for a stop for preventing lateral movement of the sponge head relative to the erected package.

Abstract: The present invention concerns the aminophenols (I) as novel couplers ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different and are hydrogen, alkyl and hydroxyalkyl of from 1 to about 6 carbons in the alkyl moiety, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 can also form, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, a morpholine, piperidine or pyrrolidine ring, and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are hydrogen, alkyl, acyl and hydroxyalkyl having from 1 to about 6 carbons, and oxidative hair dye compositions containing same along with at least one primary dye intermediate in aqueous or hydroalcoholic media.

Abstract: A furniture polish composition characterized by an internal aqueous phase and an external oil phase, the composition containing an ethoxylated montan acid wax in an amount of from 0.5 to 5% by weight, which constituent functions both as an emulsifier and as the wax. Also included in the composition is from 10 to 50% hydrocarbon solvent; from 0 to 15% polysiloxane, and water. A coemulsifier may be included at low levels, less than 0.5% by weight, the weight ratio of the ester to the emulsifier being greater than 1:1.
