Abstract: A method and a Financial Product providing for Banks and other large Finance Companies (Intermediaries) to market and fund the Financial Product to its Customers (Customers) and potential Customers, whereby the entire Financial Product processes are administered by a contracted Finance Company (Contractor) that possess loan, leasing and/or factoring specialty expertise that the Intermediary does not have or cannot duplicate cost effectively. The Contractor will indemnify and/or insure the Intermediary from loss of principle and interest, thereby eliminating all risk to the Intermediary, or alternatively the Contractor will indemnify the Intermediary, and further guarantee the indemnification through an insurance company in the form of a performance bond, or another third party in the form of a put option. In a further alternative the indemnification may be entirely in the form of a performance bond or put option.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for analysing temperature-dependent molecular configurations such as folding comprises a multi-channel flow-through chip (12) along which molecules to be analysed pass. A temperature gradient is maintained along the length of the chip. As molecules pass along the channels they fold or unfold, in response to the changing temperature. These changing molecular configurations are investigated by simultaneously measuring the extent to which the molecules absorb UV light, and the extent to which they fluoresce. The absorption and fluorescence information is supplied to a computer system (26) for real-time analysis.

Abstract: A surface acoustic wave device is provides and comprises a flexible substrate having a first side and a piezoelectric film attached to at least a portion of the first side of the flexible substrate. The piezoelectric film can have a first side and a second side. A surface acoustic wave circuit can adjoin at least a portion of the first side of the piezoelectric film. These devices can comprise thin and flexible substrates, such as polyimide to make the devices flexible. If adhesive is applied to the back of devices constructed in accordance with the invention, such devices can be adhered to almost any surface, even a curved surface. The devices of the present invention can be easily integrated with other devices.

Abstract: A can end member has a center panel, a circumferential chuck wall, a transition wall, and a curl. The center panel is centered about a longitudinal axis and has a peripheral edge. The center panel has a peripheral edge. At least a portion of the peripheral edge includes coined segment. The curl defines an outer perimeter of the end member. The circumferential chuck wall extends downwardly from the curl to the transition wall. The transition wall connects the chuck wall with the peripheral edge of the center panel. The transition wall has a folded portion extending outwardly relative to the longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A system includes a device for setting a material, such as ink, deposited on a textile or graphic. A programmable logic controller includes a power intensity selector and an application module and is operably connected to the device. The application module is capable of generating a power intensity output signal in response to the power intensity selector. The power intensity output signal is transmitted to the device for a predetermined time period.
Abstract: A rotating apparatus (10) for drying a material (44) is disclosed. In one embodiment, the rotating apparatus (10) includes a generally cylindrical drum (12), a burner (20) having a burner head (22) at least partially disposed within the drum (10) and a plurality of elongated flights (26). The flights (26) are spaced-apart at pre-determined locations along an interior surface (16) of the drum (12). The length of the flights extends along the interior surface (16) of the drum (12). Optionally, a plurality of plates (28) may be utilized and positioned between the plurality of flights (26) and the interior surface (16) of the drum (12).
Abstract: A protective sleeve for an ampoule having an elastic sidewall, a proximal end and a distal end is disclosed. The elastic sidewall has an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface defines a chamber adapted for receiving the ampoule. The proximal end has an opening through which the ampoule can be accessed. The distal end is at least partially closed for retaining the ampoule within the chamber.
Abstract: A real time emergency response surveillance system, a method, and a computer readable medium for storing a computer program for responding to an emergency situation are disclosed. The real time emergency response surveillance system includes one or more surveillance stations communicatively coupled to an operations center. Each surveillance station includes a controller, a video camera, a communication module and a display screen. The surveillance station is placed in one of a surveillance mode and an emergency response mode. Real time video data is transmitted from the surveillance station to the operations center in both the surveillance mode and the emergency response mode. Real time video data is received from the operations center at the surveillance station in emergency response mode. The real time video data received at the surveillance station is displayed on a display screen in emergency response mode.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for hinging or otherwise easily engaging and disengaging various members to each other include a spring-actuated pin element to selectively extend and retract a pin from one hinge leaf to engage an adjacent structure. A variety of spring elements may be used, and the hinge may be combined with other hinge elements in a variety of ways, including an articulated hinge. Methods of fabrication and assembly are disclosed.
Abstract: A method and a Loan product providing for Banks and other large Finance Companies (Intermediaries) to market and fund loan product to its Customers (Borrowers), whereby the entire loan processes are administered by a contracted Finance Company (Contractor) that possess loan, leasing and/or factoring (collectively referred to as a Loan) specialty expertise that the Intermediary does not have or cannot duplicate cost effectively. The Contractor will indemnify and/or insure the Intermediary from loss of principle and interest, thereby eliminating all risk to the Intermediary. Since the Intermediary provides money for the Loan, the cost will be in most cases lower than the cost of money the Contractor can provide directly. The Contractor is able to drastically reduce its marketing costs as volume gets funneled in from its customer Intermediaries. The Borrower benefits from having easier access to the various Loan products and a lower price due to this process.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for molecular and macromolecular crystallization. More particularly, the device comprises a well and a transparent cap for growing diffraction-quality protein crystals by conventional vapor diffusion techniques. The present device is particularly advantageous in that it allows the pre-filling of the well with a solution for transport and handling.
