    Abstract: In a method for visualizing query results in stream processing systems, a visualization service receives a query from a client to visualize data in a stream processing application. The query is sent from the visualization service to a query-able operator of the stream processing application. At the query-able operator, an operation is performed using history data in the query-able operator to produce a first result that satisfies the query and the first result is sent to the visualization service. At the query-able operator, another operation is performed using new data received by the query-able operator to produce a second result that satisfies the query and the second result is sent to the visualization service. The first and second results are output from the visualization service to the client.

    Abstract: A random bit generator and a method thereof are provided. The random bit generator includes an amplifier, a comparing circuit, an oscillator, a sampler, and a storage circuit. The amplifier amplifies a difference between input signals generated based on thermal noise. The comparing circuit compares an alternating current (AC) signal output from the amplifier with a direct current (DC) signal obtained by low-pass filtering the AC signal and outputs a signal according to the comparison result. The oscillator may be implemented with a resistor-capacitor (R-C) oscillator. The oscillator consumes lower current and occupies a smaller layout area than a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and outputs an oscillation signal. The sampler samples the oscillation signal output from the oscillator in response to the output signal of the comparing circuit. The storage circuit stores an output signal of the sampler in response to a clock signal.

    Abstract: There is provided a method for automatically segmenting lung nodules in a three-dimensional (3D) Computed Tomography (CT) volume dataset. An input is received corresponding to a user-selected point near a boundary of a nodule. A model is constructed of the nodule from the user-selected point, the model being a deformable circle having a set of parameters ? that represent a shape of the nodule. Continuous parts of the boundary and discontinuities of the boundary are estimated until the set of parameters ? converges, using dynamic programming and Expectation Maximization (EM). The nodule is segmented, based on estimates of the continuous parts of the boundary and the discontinuities of the boundary.
