Abstract: A convertible body armor and carrying bag includes a first panel and a second panel. Each panel has body armor material incorporated therein. A pair of shoulder straps is provided, each having a first end secured to the first panel adjacent a first edge of the first panel, and a second end secured to the second panel adjacent a first edge of the second panel, with the shoulder straps spaced apart from each other by a space that corresponds to the distance between an adult human being's shoulders. A removable attachment mechanism removably attaches the peripheries of the panels in a manner such that the panels and the attachment mechanism together define an interior storage space when the attachment mechanism attaches the peripheries of the panels, and the panels can be worn as a body vest with the shoulder straps supported on an adult human being's shoulders when the attachment mechanism does not attach the peripheries of the panels. A weapon can be stored inside the interior storage space.
Abstract: A nautical instrument that can be repetitively mounted to and removed from a surface within a ship without the use of tools or other instruments. The nautical instrument incorporates a mounting system that achieves slidable locking engagement of the nautical instrument to a bulkhead plate that is permanently secured to the surface of the ship.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer-readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions for providing phase-range data associated with a return pulse of a radar device and second phase-range data associated with a successive return pulse of the radar device. The computer-executable instructions are preferably also for comparing the phase-range data and the second phase-range data to obtain a difference, and for differentiating the difference. In some embodiments of the invention, the computer-executable instructions are preferably also for discriminating a target from clutter by using the differentiated difference to identify coordinates satisfying a velocity threshold associated with the clutter. Embodiments of the invention preferably enable phase-coherent operation of a non-coherent radar device by processing backscattered clutter return, and in some aspects, do so using clutter distributed in range as a reference.
