    Abstract: A aerial toy comprises a hollow sleeve member and a base member to receive and accommodate the hollow sleeve member longitudinally for sliding movement, the base member having a cap provided with a plurality of holes permit air entrance into the base member when it is pulled and an air insulation member bendably placed thereof inside the cap in a position opposite to the holes to prevent air exit from the base member when it is pushed to permit easy sliding of the base member along the hollow sleeve member while maintaining sufficient compressed air thereof. The aerial toy apparatus further comprises an air chamber into which the hollow sleeve member fits securely and a launch tube into which the air chamber fits securely to receive the compressed air from the hollow sleeve member and a flying member mountable onto an upper end of the launch tube to be pushed off of the apparatus by the compressed air released from the launch tube.

    Abstract: A batch micro-fabricable array of dimensionally scaled-down Integrated Micro Coil Structure (IMCS) having a plurality of multi-layer gradient coils and a set of RF coils is disclosed for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The coil traces are made of electrically conductive material. The key scaled-down parameters include a maximum coil size of about 20 &mgr;m in diameter, a minimum layer thickness of about 20 &mgr;m, an analysis chamber size of 50 &mgr;m and an overall IMCS size of less than 10 mm. Coupled with an external MRI electronic driving and signal acquisition system, the IMCS functions to capture the three dimensional image of a magnetic nano article, located within the IMCS analysis chamber, with a high resolution of less than a &mgr;m. Also disclosed is a method of driving a small magnetic object having a magnetic moment, also located within the analysis chamber, by properly energizing the gradient coils.

ST188L appeared to be activated in vivo to stimulate the activity of NK cells and LAK cells as shown by the increases in cytolytic activity of peripheral blood mononuclear cells isolated from volunteers after intake of ST 188L toward target cells, such as K562, Daudi, HepG2 and HBV transfected HepG2-2215 in a dose dependent manner. ST 188L has been proven to be effective on eradicating malignancy in a cancer patient by enhancing said patients' endogenous immune system to keep said patient cancer free for more than ten years.

    Abstract: A counter balanced effluence transfer system for the transfer of effluence from a source container into a receiving reservoir comprises a receiving reservoir having a cover plate and a reservoir top opening, and a counter balanced mechanism located above the receiving reservoir, which includes a pivot point, a source-side member attached to one side of the pivot point and a balance-side member attached to the other side of the pivot point. While the size and weight of the source-side member are made the same as those of the balance-side member, an angular asymmetry is built in between the source arm and the balance arm so that the gravitational source torque Ts and the gravitational balance torque Tb are made unequal. Upon release of the counter balanced mechanism with a latching starting mechanism, the counter balanced mechanism would automatically rotate and complete the pouring of source effluence into the receiving reservoir.

    Abstract: A sensor chip with an on-chip operational amplifier is described for the formation into a sensor array of a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) module. A number of extra on-chip bonding pads are provided which are electrically connected to the operational amplifier, the associated input resistor and the charge integration capacitor in a selective manner. A number of extra off-chip common conductor stripes are also provided on the substrate for the chip array. A set of wiring patterns are then used to selectively connect these on-chip bonding pads with their corresponding off-chip common conductor stripes resulting in a CIS module which provides both a variable gain of a selected single operational amplifier and an equivalent charge integration capacitance which is the summation of the capacitors from the individual sensor chips within the chip array. Additionally, the associated input resistors can be replaced with an MOS transistor whose control gate can be similarly programmed with the wiring pattern.

    Abstract: A handheld and bench top hose and tubing cutter for cutting hose and tubing of various sizes is disclosed. The hose cutter comprises a upper arm member and lower arm member with each arm member having its own handle, finger guard and colored differently. An intermediate pivot point is located close to one end of each of the two arm members to join the two arm members. The upper arm member further comprises a replaceable cutting blade located close to the pivot point. The lower arm member further comprises a nested cradle facing the cutting blade. The nested cradle has a suitably contoured supporting surface for the positioning of a hose or tube of various sizes to be engaged and cut through by the cutting blade. The upper and lower arm member also respectively includes opposing stopping surfaces such that, upon contacting each other, they would act as a positive stop for the cutting process with the position of the cutting blade clearing the nested cradle.

    Abstract: This invention concerns a method for production of AlN powder. The reactants discovered in the invention are aluminum powder and a compound which contains NHx (e.g. NH2, NH3, NH4, N2H4, and N2H6 etc.) or halogens and which can be thermally decomposed or vaporized below the melting point of Al (660° C.). These two reactants are mixed at an appropriate ratio and then pressed into a compact with an appropriate shape. These two reactants, after being mixed at an appropriate ratio, may also be placed in a refractory container which has an opening at one end or has porous walls. In preparing the reactant compact or the reactant mixture, a dilutant such as AlN powder may also be added and mixed with the two reactants. This reactant compact or reactant mixture is then placed in a reaction chamber which is filled with nitrogen. By heating the reactant compact or the reactant mixture, the combustion synthesis reaction is ignited and AlN powder is produced.

    Abstract: In this patent, reaction sintering was used to prepare translucent strontium barium niobate ceramics (SrxBa1-xNb2O6, x=0.2-0.7). High purity powders of strontium carbonate (SrCO3) and barium carbonate (BaCO3) were mixed with niobium oxide (Nb2O5), respectively, at the same mole using ball milling. The mixed powders were dried and ground by a mortar. Thereafter, they were calcined at 800-1050° C. for 1-4 h in air to form strontium niobate (SrNb2O6) and Barium niobate (BaNb2O6), respectively. Precursor powders of strontium niobate (SrNb2O6) and barium niobate (BaNb2O6) were mixed in appropriate ratios and pressed. Compacts were reaction-sintered in a temperature range of 1300 to 1320° C. in O2 and then heat-treated in a temperature range of 1260 to 1275° C. in O2. We also propose the related basic principles and microstructures.

The additive enables the emulsified water/oil mixture to accommodate allowable water ratios from about 15% up to about 50% to achieve a fuel reduction rate of about 15-30% as compared to a conventional fuel source comprise solely of the crude oils.
