  • Patent number: 6464816
Abstract: A drip irrigation hose of the continuous emitter type in which the outlets from the regulating passage each comprise a single longitudinal slit. By controlling the length of the slits and the flexibility of the film, water drips from the outlets when the hose is pressurized without clogging when the hose is depressurized. The slits are sufficiently long and the film is sufficiently flexible so the water drips from the outlets when the hose is pressurized. The slits are sufficiently short and the film is sufficiently rigid so the outlets close completely when the hose is depressurized. An outlet forming wheel has a knife blade on its periphery. A backing wheel engages the outlet forming wheel to establish a first nip therebetween. The backing wheel has on its periphery a circumferential slot into which the knife blade fits at the first nip. A rib forming wheel has around its periphery impressions that define a desired track pattern for the ribs.

  • Patent number: 6465796
Abstract: Disclosed is a charged-particle beam lithography system in which deterioration of a BAA chip is prevented without a reduction in the magnitude of a charged-particle beam used for exposure. The charged-particle beam lithography system has a charged-particle beam emitter source and a chip having a plurality of apertures arrayed therein. The plurality of apertures shapes a charged-particle beam emitted from the emitter source so that the cross section thereof will have a predetermined shape. The charged-particle beam lithography system uses the charged-particle beam having passed through the apertures to pattern an exposed sample. The charged-particle beam lithography system includes a mask having a plurality of apertures bored therein. The plurality of apertures is arrayed in the same manner as the plurality of apertures arrayed in the chip, and has a size that is any multiple of the size of the apertures of the chip.

  • Patent number: 6466734
Abstract: Digital compressed codes, associated with advertisements enable a user to selectively record additional information, which would be broadcast on a television channel at a later time. The advertisement could be print advertisement or broadcast advertisement on television or radio. The user enters the digital code (I code) associated with an advertisement into a unit with a decoding unit which automatically converts the code into CTL (channel, time and length). The unit within a twenty four hour period activates a VCR to record information on the television channel at the right time for the proper length of time. The decoded channel, time and length information can be communicated directly to a VCR and used by the VCR directly to automatically activate the VCR to record a given television information broadcast corresponding to the communicated channel, time and length.

  • Patent number: 6460637
Abstract: Enhanced inserts are formed having a cylindrical grip and a protrusion extending from the grip. An ultra hard material layer is bonded on top of the protrusion. The inserts are mounted on a rock bit and contact the earth formations off center. The ultra hard material layer is thickest at a critical zone which encompasses a major portion of the region of contact between the insert and the earth formation. Transition layers may also be formed between the ultra hard material layer and the protrusion so as to reduce the residual stresses formed on the interface between the ultra hard material and the protrusion.

  • Patent number: 6463120
Abstract: A method for measuring bonding agent content and distribution in a composite product that includes bonding agent and cellulosic material. The method involves using a bonding agent that includes electronegative functional groups and an X-ray active cationic label bonded with the functional groups in the manufacture of the composite product. The cellulosic material is exposed to X-rays to generate a characteristic fluorescence signal from the label. The X-ray fluorescence of the label is measured to determine the amount and distribution of the label in the cellulosic material and thereby the amount and distribution of the bonding agent in the composite product. The present invention also provides a bonding agent composition useful for determining the distribution of the bonding agent in a composite product comprising a bonding agent containing electronegative functional groups and a label compound that includes positively charged ions to emit characteristic fluorescence when exposed to X-rays.
