  • Patent number: 6076572
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus that lifts, secures, splits and/or crushes tree stumps or other materials, particularly wooden or metal materials and other materials that may be present at an excavation site. The apparatus is characterized in part by a two pivot point design. A first pivot point allows for the pivotable operation of an engaging unit which grabs and lifts the tree stump. The engaging unit further acts a durable and secure support member for the tree stump during the splitting and crushing process. The second pivot point allows for the pivotable operation of a cutting device which facilitates splitting and crushing of the stumps.

  • Patent number: 6065288
Abstract: The hydraulic control system disclosed herein employs a pair of combination poppet/spool valves to control the operation of a hydraulic cylinder driven from a bidirectional pump. Flow introduced through the source port of one valve lifts the poppet of the other valve on its way to one side of the cylinder which in turn opens a throttling port to modulate return flow from the other side of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6019211
Abstract: A conveyor having a plurality of spaced rollers mounted between a pair of elongated horizontal frame members for supporting an article and enabling the article to be conveyed longitudinally of the frame members. The conveyor has a workstation formed by a plurality of interrupter strips extending in the spaces between rollers. Each interrupter strip has a plurality of lifting pads which are selectively movable between a lower position in which the upper surface of the pads are below the tops of the rollers and an upper position in which the upper surface of the pads are above the tops of the rollers for supporting the article and frictionally engaging the article to maintain the article in a stable position above the strips. The interrupter strips also have a plurality of balls mounted for omnidirectional rotation on the interrupter strip.

  • Patent number: 5892126
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylphenol from 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylaniline, which comprises the steps of (1) using about 1 to 20 parts by weight of water based on 1 part by weight of 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylaniline in the presence of sulfuric acid to obtain 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylaniline sulfate; (2) subjecting the obtained 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylaniline sulfate to a diazotization reaction by using a diazotizing agent to obtain an aqueous solution containing about 8 to 25% by weight of a 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylbenzene-diazonium salt where a sulfuric acid concentration after diazotization is about 30 to 70% by weight in terms of the amount of sulfuric acid added, and the amount of water used is about 1 to 20 parts by weight based on 1 part by weight of 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylaniline; and (3) hydrolyzing the obtained 4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylbenzenediazonium salt where a sulfuric acid concentration is about 30 to 70% by weight in terms of the amount of sulfuric a

  • Patent number: 5852538
Abstract: A power element driving circuit is provided with an abnormality detecting circuit which detects an occurrence of abnormality in an IGBT (power element) or a short-circuit load based on a collector voltage of the IGBT, and controls a gate voltage control circuit so as to gradually reduce a gate voltage of the IGBT. According to the described arrangement, the IGBT can be protected from breakdown caused by short-circuit current increased by itself due to an inverse current from the load. Moreover, since an occurrence of abnormality in the IGBT is detected after starting up the IGBT, the rise time for the IGBT can be reduced, thereby preventing the thermal breakdown or power loss which may occur when a long rise time is required.

  • Patent number: 5847785
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a large-panel prepared by connecting a plurality of liquid crystal panels side to side on a large substrate, each liquid crystal panel being composed of a TFT substrate and a CF substrate. The TFT substrate and the CF substrate are connected by a combined use of a first seal material of a photo-setting resin formed along connecting sides between the liquid crystal panels and a second seal material made of a thermosetting resin formed along other sides than the connecting sides. As a result, a hardening inferior of the seal material as well as a display inferior of the liquid crystal panel due to the seal material can be prevented.
