Abstract: A drafting aid particularly useful for association with T-squares and the like wherein a vertical or normal datum point is easily obtained and wherein the drafting aid is movable about the extent of the T-square or other linear edge with which the device is used. In an exemplary embodiment the drafting aid comprises a vertically oriented member in association with a ruler or the like comprising the linear edge and the combination is associated with a T-square so as to have not only a means of aiding in the placement of vertical reference lines but also a means of ease of measuring distances between vertical reference points or lines.
Abstract: A contaminated article is subjected to vapor degreasing operations wherein the vapor degreasing solvent is a blend consisting essentially of methylene chloride and either 1,1,1-trichloroethane or trichloroethylene. Addition of methylene chloride to the solvent blend is found to stabilize the other component of the blend in the presence of contaminants encountered in the conventional vapor degreasing process; thus extending the normal life of the degreasing solvents.
Abstract: In surgical procedures of the mastectomy and partial mastectomy type, a serious aftermath problem exists because of the present cultural attitude of such surgery. Abstract: A key retainer or the like of specific curvilinear configuration wherein a first upper portion is provided with a specific hook-like shape so as to permit ease of releasable and captive association with a belt loop, a belt, or pocket recess or trousers or the like, wherein keys may be satisfactorily contained on a lower portion of the retainer in a facile manner and in a manner that allows ease of access.
Abstract: A shock absorber, in an exemplary embodiment, especially adaptable for use on motorcycles and the like vehicles, wherein the shock absorber utilizes a piston member having at least a compression and rebound orifices through which fluid flows, and wherein first and second metering rods are selectively positionable into and out of the compression and rebound orifices respectively control the rate of fluid flow therethrough so as to vary the compression and rebound modes of the shock absorber. The metering rods take the form of co-axial, concentric, needle-like valves extending within a hollow shaft, or the piston rod, wherein each of the metering rods is independently and selectively manipulable and adjustable from an external position of the shock absorber thereby allowing selective manipulation of fluid flow through the piston of the shock absorber, depending upon end results desired with regard to shock absorber function.
