  • Patent number: 7630633
Abstract: An all optical fiber bit stream reader system for examining the data contents of an optical fiber involving the conversion of a temporal timing signal into a spatially located signal is provided. The invention generally comprises generating and detecting a signal indicating the presence of data, in a manner which is minimally destructive to the data. One embodiment comprises providing a piece of optical fiber that exhibits a nonlinear response through a two photon absorption process and subsequent emission of a photon corresponding to the two photon absorption process. Such a fiber could comprise a conventional doped silica fiber into which an additional dopant has been introduced. Another embodiment involves modifying the index of refraction of the cladding of the optical fiber line. This causes a fraction of the electric field or light pulse guided through the fiber (if present) to be coupled out of the fiber. Thereafter, the pulse can be detected.

  • Patent number: 7611445
Abstract: A machine, apparatus, and method for targeting the abdominal and oblique muscle groups. The abdominal exercise system includes a frame, carriage, and an upper body support. In one embodiment, the user places at least a portion of their lower body on the carriage. The user leans their forearms and elbows against an angled upper body support while grasping a set of handles to secure the user's upper body. In turn, the user swings the carriage back and forth along an arcuate path beginning at a position behind the upper body support and ending at a position in front of the upper support, thereby contracting and relaxing the abdominal muscle group.

  • Patent number: 7608030
Abstract: An exercise chair primarily directed to employing an exercise method, with independent, adjustable foot bars and a foldable configuration. The seat is supported by a plurality of support elements, at least some of which are hingeably connected with the seat, so that the chair can be folded into a compact shape for storage or transport. The independent foot bars may each be attached to a lever that is hingeably coupled with one or more of the support elements. The position of the foot bars may also be adjustable by extending out of the levers and locking into the desired position. One or more resistance elements may be removably attached to a location below the chair seat, and individually connected with the levers via an adjusting assembly that can either slide or be placed in pre-set mounting locations along the lever to provide variable resistance, or can be equipped with a turnbuckle to provide varying resistance.

  • Patent number: 7607541
Abstract: A portable liquid medication storage and dispensing unit includes a main container body with associated first and second lids. The first lid encloses a medicine dropper which is removably coupled to an outside wall of the main container body. The second lid provides access to the interior of the main container body. A plurality of stacked vials is introduced into the main container body when the second lid is open. Each of the stacked vials is filled with a pre-measured dosage of liquid medication and configured to allow the pre-setting of time for the user to take a particular medication dose. The vials may be secured and stacked within the main container body in a non-square or square matrix configuration.

  • Patent number: 7608031
Abstract: An exercise device allowing a user to exercise his abdominal region by lying on his back while extending his arms generally upwards is disclosed. The device has a hand-gripping member positioned generally above the user's head for the user to grip while exercising. The hand-gripping member allows for a wide range of motion which may include side-to-side, front-to-back, diagonal, and/or rotational motion. This enables the user can exercise his abdominal region by moving in a variety of different directions, while keeping his arms extended.

  • Patent number: 7607629
Abstract: A detachable music box for a baby bottle is comprised of a body structure having a base for resting upon a horizontal surface to support the baby bottle thereon in a stable manner. A musical sound player is housed within the body structure. A bottle seat is located at the top of the base and includes a bottle clamp for gripping the sides of the baby bottle to thereby releasably secure the body structure to the baby bottle. The bottle clamp may alternatively release the body structure from the baby bottle. The clamping mechanism thereby allows the detachable music box to be releasably attached to baby bottles having physical sizes and shapes that differ significantly from each other.

  • Patent number: 7598879
Abstract: A rodent repeller having an elongated body, an end cap, an apex, a power supply, a buzzer, and a buzzer transformer. Connection of the power supply to the audible signal generator via the audible signal generator transformer produces a signal in the form of a chatter sound that mimics a frightened rodent to discourage rodents from remaining in a vicinity of the rodent repeller. The audible signal can be amplified with perforations in the apex, a tympanic resonator in the elongated body, or both. The rodent repeller can further utilize solar power.

  • Patent number: 7594706
Abstract: An adjustable sliding sink drawer comprising a left side panel, a right side panel, a left front panel, a right front panel, a left center tray, and a right center tray. These panels and trays are shaped to permit insertion of the device, in a drawer-like manner, into a cavity adjacent to and partially surrounding the underside of a sink, particularly a bathroom sink. The panels and trays create a geometrically-shaped storage compartment, having a generally horizontal bottom and generally vertical side walls. Further, these panels and trays are slidably connected to permit the adjustable sliding sink drawer to occupy the entire breadth of the cavity adjacent to the sink, to fit around various sink widths and designs, and to occupy nearly all of the usable space between the sink and the walls of the cabinet in which the sink is mounted. Non-adjustable embodiments are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7591474
Abstract: A combination bicycle fork and steering tube assembly is formed with a pair of downwardly directed, mutually converging end closure tabs that are bent over into abutment and welded together to define peripherally enclosed fork openings at the ends of the steerer tube. The upper ends of the hollow fork legs are configured to follow the surface contours of the lower end of the steerer tube and are welded to the end closure tabs about the circumferences of the enclosed fork openings at the lower end of the steering tube. The front wheel axle dropouts are formed directly in the lower ends of the fork legs, which include internal dropout support inserts. The dropout support inserts are sandwiched in between a pair of flat, mutually parallel dropout tabs defined directly in the lower ends of the fork legs. The preload bolt has an internal partition that defines a wrench socket that is radially displaced from the axial center of the preload bolt.
