  • Patent number: 4201121
Abstract: A method and apparatus for venting heated air from the upper portions of a room in a dwelling or the like, the invention acts to reduce heat loading within a building by providing a siphon vent pipe which opens into the upper portion of the room and extends upwardly into communication with a draft channel disposed near the roof of the building. Heated air within the upper portions of the room is thereby first vented from the room and then subsequently vented externally of the building through a vent formed in the roof of the building.

  • Patent number: 4177806
Abstract: A knee pillow having a resilient pad forming a surface contoured by formation of an indentation to conform to the knee area of a leg of a person wearing the pillow, and including straps attached to the pad for removably securing the pad to the inside portion of a wearer's leg and preventing the knees of the wearer's leg from digging into one another.

  • Patent number: 4060365
Abstract: A support is provided including a lower stationary horizontal plate and a generally horizontal support arm is spaced above and extends over the lower plate. The portion of the support arm disposed in vertical registry with the lower plate has an upper plate supported therefrom closely overlying the lower plate and a first end portion of the support arm is pivotally supported from the support for oscillation about a horizontal axis extending transversely of the support arm. Structures for heating the upper and lower plates are operatively associated therewith and a motor having a rotatable output shaft is mounted on the support and a pitman arm is removably operably connected between the rotatable output shaft and an extension of the pivoted end portion of the support arm for oscillation of the arm and swinging movement of the upper plate about the axis of oscillation of the support arm toward and away from the lower plate in response to rotation of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4050395
Abstract: A boat hull is provided including fore and aft hull sections pivotally interconnected for relative angular displacement of said sections about a horizontal transverse axis between predetermined limits. Connecting structure is provided and interconnected between the sections and adjustably yieldingly resists relative angular displacement of the hull sections. In addition, the connecting structure is operative to adjustably vertically position the axis of relative oscillation of the sections relative to the fore section and the fore and aft sections include generally longitudinally straight adjacent bottom surface portions with the bottom surface portion of the aft section being spaced above the level of the bottom surface portion of the fore section, even when the axis of relative oscillation of the sections is adjusted to its lowest position relative to the fore section.

  • Patent number: 4046400
Abstract: A pair of front and rear abutment members are supported in longitudinally spaced position upon the mid-portion of a ski for vertical and lateral shifting relative to the ski and the abutment members include downwardly facing partial spherical seating surfaces abutted against upwardly facing seating surfaces on the ski. Coiled spring structure is enclosed within each abutment member and connected between the latter and the ski for yieldingly biasing the abutment members into tight seated engagement with the upwardly facing seating surfaces carried by the ski. A ski boot is provided and includes extending opposite heel and toe sole portions having upwardly and outwardly opening V-shaped notches formed therein and the ski boot is snugly received between the abutment members with the adjacent portions of the partial spherical surfaces of the abutment members seated in the upwardly and outwardly opening V-shaped notches in the extended toe and heel portions of the ski boot sole.

  • Patent number: 4030843
Abstract: A boring bar having a body with standard shank portion at one end and a fluted, adjustable portion at the other end thereof which rigidly supports two standard triangular carbide tips. The tips are adjustable simultaneously to the desired size by means of an accurately shaped and angled adjusting plug together with accurate angles formed in the fluted end of the bar itself.

  • Patent number: 3934848
Abstract: The riser straps associated with the canopy suspension lines of a parachute are releasably coupled to a body harness by connector devices which include buckle rings through which loop extensions of the riser straps are threaded. A locking pin assembly engaged with each loop extension holds each connector device in a coupling condition. Each locking pin assembly is anchored to a cover protectively enclosing the connector device, by means of which the pin assembly is withdrawn to uncouple the connector device.
