Abstract: Two frame sections are hingedly attached at their top and each frame section contains a pair of wheels at the bottom. One of the frame sections consists of a pair of laterally spaced parallel side rails having horizontal steps disposed therebetween. The other frame section contains a pair of parallel spaced channel bars on which ride a vertically movable platform. The platform can be hoisted along the channel bars by use of a hand crank and winch assembly. The two frame sections can be folded together for use as a conventional hand truck or the frame sections can be folded apart and the wheels locked for use as a stepladder.

Abstract: A kit for converting the rotatable supporting structure for an intermediate gear employed in a gear box or transfer case such as those used in certain commercially available four wheel drive vehicles and the like from a loose needle bearing support for journaling the intermediate gear from its supporting shaft to a tapered roller bearing support with the kit including a pair of tapered bearing assemblies, a spacer positioned therebetween, bushings received in the transfer case bosses, thrust washers between the bushings and the bearings and a bolt-type shaft having a polygonal head at one end and a lock nut at the other to retain the components in assembled relation and to preload the bearings in the intermediate gear by applying a predetermined torque on the lock nut while holding the bolt stationary.

Abstract: An elongated horizontal support member is provided for spanning and support from the horizontally spaced forks of a fork lift. The support member includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced anchor structures and a plurality of elongated flexible tension members have one set of corresponding ends thereof engaged with and supported from the anchor structures with the tension members swingably supported and depending downwardly therefrom. The other or lower set of corresponding ends of the tension members have fixtures supported therefrom for releasably engaging and supporting articles to be suspended from the support member by means of the tension members.

Abstract: A massage back brace having a resilient arrangement mounted on a flexible support member and covered by a resilient pad. The brace is affixable in position on a wearer's back by a belt-like strap removably attachable to the flexible support member and fastened together about a wearer's torso.

Abstract: A device for rotating solar collectors has a pulley assembly connected to an individual solar collector of a bank of such collectors for rotating the collector in synchronization with the sun. Connected to the pulley assembly by a flexible member is a drive arrangement including a rigid drive rod mounted for reciprocating movement perpendicular to the extent of a shaft on which the collector is journaled. The flexible member is disposed about a non-circular track provided on the pulley assembly and secured to the drive rod for rotating the pulley as a function of movement of the drive rod.

Abstract: A grease extraction cartridge for a kitchen exhaust ventilator is removably disposed along a flow path through the ventilator for normally forming a fire wall, while being readily removable from the ventilator to permit access to the interior of the ventilator for purposes of cleaning and maintaining the device.

Abstract: A gasoline refractionator for internal combustion engines has a first heat exchanger which receives gasoline from a fuel source and cools the gasoline sufficiently to cause the gasoline to separate into its lighter and heavier ends or components. The separated components are then heated in a second heat exchanger to a temperature at which the components will tend to remain separated even when in physical contact with one another. By imparting a swirl to the heated components, the heavier components will tend to surround the lighter components and provide maximum surface contact between the components during ignition in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine.

Abstract: A vacuum controlled liquid metering assembly is provided defining an upstanding fluid passage therethrough communicated with the source of fluid at its lower end and with a source of variable vacuum at its upper end. A plurality of valve members are freely reciprocal in the passage between upper and lower limit positions and each is loosely received in the passage. In addition, each of the valve members has an upstanding bore formed therethrough and the bores of the valve members are vertically aligned. The valve members are of different weight with the heaviest valve member disposed lowermost and the lightest valve member disposed uppermost. Also, the diameters of the passages or bores formed through the valve members are each larger in diameter than the bore or passage disposed immediately thereabove. Still further, the valve members may be buoyed up in their confining upstanding fluid passage in response to greater fluid pressures therebelow and dynamic fluid pressures acting upon them from therebelow.

Abstract: A swab or applicator utilizing a generally pliable or bendable tubular member of plastic or similar material having one end inserted into and gripped by a gripping chuck and the other end provided with an absorbent swab of cotton or other natural or synthetic material with a passage being exposed at the tip end of the swab for discharging material therethrough and applying such material to a desired location. The inner end of the tubular member is beveled and provided with roughened surface area portions to facilitate the gripping thereof. Various chuck adapters mount the tubular member on containers having structural characteristics enabling the contents of the container to be discharged from the opening in the tip end of the swab. A closure disk is provided in the chuck adapter to maintain the contents of the container sealed until ready for use.
