  • Patent number: 5236093
Abstract: The system includes a variable speed motor (13) which controls the operation of a disk screen (14) which is part of a gyratory screen/disk screening system for wood chips and the like. Wood chips are fed at a variable rate to a storage bin (34), which includes a level sensor (36). The level sensor (36) controls the operation of a star feeder (42) to maintain the level of providing a varying amount of input material to the upstream end of the gyratory screen (12). The speed of the motor (46) driving the star feeder valve (42) is used to develop a control signal for the disk screen motor (13), to ensure a uniform flow rate off the disk screen.

  • Patent number: 5235985
Abstract: The automatic bladder scanning apparatus includes a transducer assembly (30), which includes a plurality of individual transducer elements (32). A first plurality of transducer elements are connected into an approximately circular or octagonal arrangement to produce a transmitted signal beam. The data transmission signal is pseudo-random. The returning echo signal is received by another plurality of transducer elements arranged in a preselected pattern. One receiving pattern includes two orthogonal sets of linear arrays, while the other receiving pattern involves an octagonal arrangement. The received signals from the second plurality of transducer elements are processed to form a composite received signal. The composite received signal is then further processed to produce information concerning the three dimension image of the bladder, which information is then used to calculate the bladder volume.

  • Patent number: 5201205
Abstract: A two axis tracer (10) includes a back plate (34) and a front plate assembly (49) which includes a single sensing member (24) at the top end of which is a mushroom-shaped cap portion (28). Mounted on back plate (34) is a slider assembly (38) which moves in one direction between the front and rear edges of the back plate (34). The front plate assembly (49) is mounted to the slider assembly (38). A first air cylinder (60) operating a lever arm (52) provides movement of the sensing member (24) in the other direction, which is perpendicular to the one direction. A second air cylinder (68) includes an extendable rod, the end of which is secured to the back plate (34), providing movement of the front plate assembly (49) by action of the slider assembly (38). The top and peripheral edge of the cap portion (28) contact surfaces of the part to be worked in the two directions.

  • Patent number: 5135597
Abstract: The process begins with a single board, for instance a flat grain board, of selected dimensions. The single board may be clear or not or may be cut and rejoined to remove defects. The board is then sawn in a selected manner and the resulting boards are bonded together by gluing to form a remanufactured board, in such a manner that the glue lines are substantially invisible. In one preferred embodiment, a flat grain board is rip sawn and then edge glued to form a vertical grain board of selected dimensions.

  • Patent number: 4574233
Abstract: A current source circuit includes a first transistor (11) having an output current which is sensed across a resistance connected between the emitter of the first transistor (11) and the negative side of the supply voltage. A series negative feedback loop comprising transistors (13, 15) is connected between the emitter of first transistor (11) and the base of first transistor (11). The transistors (11, 13 and 15) and the other circuit components are selected so as to result in an incremental output resistance approaching that of a cascode current source, while having a voltage drop across the circuit of substantially less than 1 volt.
