Patent number: 7631671Abstract: A system and method are provided for in-line processes of blending butane into gasoline streams, and for blending butane into a gasoline stream at any point along a petroleum pipeline. The invention additionally provides a method for measuring the vapor pressure and vapor to liquid ratio of the gasoline, both upstream and downstream of the blending operation, as well as the sulfur content of the butane entering the blending operation. The blending operation can be controlled to ensure that the blended gasoline meets EPA requirements for vapor pressure and sulfur content of gasoline. The invention further provides a method for accessing and monitoring the operation off-site.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2006Date of Patent: December 15, 2009Assignee: MCE Blending, LLCInventors: Larry D. Mattingly, Steven M. Vanderbur

Patent number: 7482377Abstract: New pharmaceutical compositions for oral use containing diclofenac together with alkali metal bicarbonates in amounts of from 20 to 80 by weight with respect to diclofenac are described. These compositions are entirely palatable and free from any unpleasant taste or other, side effects; in particular, these formulations permit to obtain in human patients higher Cmax of the active principle and shorter Tmax together with a lower coefficient of variation.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2005Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: Kowa Pharmaceuticals America, Inc.Inventors: Alberto Reiner, Giorgio Reiner

Patent number: 6784146Abstract: The present invention is a deinking method and composition that uses at least 50% by weight based on the total weight of surfactants of non-ionic, C16 to C25 aliphatic, monohydric alcohol alkoxylates having 14 to 40 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of alcohol and 0 to 10 moles of propylene oxide per mole of alcohol. Using deinking compositions to deink wastepaper pulp wherein the surfactants primarily include the C16 to C18 aliphatic alcohol alkoxylates of the invention produces paper having excellent brightness and low effective residual ink concentrations. In addition, a low amount of sizing agents is used to produce paper having acceptable levels of water repellency.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2000Date of Patent: August 31, 2004Assignee: Kemira Chemicals, Inc.Inventors: Jing Luo, David D. Dreisbach, Michael Lease Hemenway

Patent number: 6679302Abstract: A system and method is provided for blending butane with gasoline at petroleum tank farms, immediately before distribution to tanker trucks. The invention provides a method for blending gasoline and butane at a tank farm comprising: (a) drawing a gasoline stream from a tank of gasoline; (b) drawing a butane stream from a tank of butane; (c) blending the butane and gasoline streams to form a blend; and (d) dispensing the blend. The blending process can be controlled to ensure that the vapor pressure of the blended gasoline meets vapor pressure requirements of environmental regulations. Information generated by the blending process can be used to efficiently forecast butane purchasing requirements, and to generate regulatory reports.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2002Date of Patent: January 20, 2004Assignee: MCE Blending, LLCInventors: Larry D. Mattingly, Steven M. Vanderbur

Patent number: 5538047Abstract: A process by which rugs and other pile fabrics can be woven to incorporate large uninterupted areas of a single color without a streaking appearance. As a fabric is being woven and a yarn end is woven into the face of a fabric, before the distance of the yarn end on the face of the fabric reaches a significant length, the yarn end is pulled from the face of the rug to float on the back of the rug as the weaving process continues. Meanwhile another end of identical color takes the place of the floating yarn end, and is woven into the face of the rug along the same longitudinal row, also for no more than a significant length. By this technique an off-color yarn will not travel far enough in a continuous line to manifest itself to the human eye as a streak. By pulling the same color yarn from two creel positions in every longitudinal row of a single colored area, and alternating between the two positions in every longitudinal row streaks do no appear in any part of the rug.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1995Date of Patent: July 23, 1996Inventor: Hans O. Warnecke

Patent number: 5494212Abstract: A rail-tie fastening assembly for fastening a rail to a concrete tie comprising a rail seat assembly and a rail anchor. The rail seat assembly includes a rail seat basin and a rail seat wherein the rail seat is disposed in the rail seat basin and bonded thereto with an elastomeric material having a void formed therein between the bottom of the rail seat and the bottom of the rail seat basin so as to produce a shear spring which transfers applied vertical load from the rail to the tie. The rail seat assembly is embedded in the tie and the rail anchor is adapted to engage a portion of the rail and to interlock with the rail seat assembly so as to cooperate with the rail seat assembly to fasten the rail to the tie.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1995Date of Patent: February 27, 1996Assignee: Kerr-McGhee Chemical CorporationInventor: S.
