Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods which create an infrastructure/transport Pseudowire (PW) a priori between two Provider Edge (PE) devices. Accordingly, other PWs can be mapped to this transport PW. In an exemplary application, the transport PW (which is a MS-PW by itself) can start and end between two Switching Provider Edge (S-PE) devices and span across multiple S-PEs in between. In another exemplary application, the transport PW terminates between two Terminating Provider Edge (T-PE) devices spanning across all S-PEs in between. In a further exemplary application, the transport PW can start at a S-PE or T-PE and terminate at a T-PE or S-PE, respectively. The placement of the endpoints of the transport PW (on two PEs) determines the number of intervening S-PEs that benefit from this application.
Abstract: Packet switch operating methods and packet switches determine an identifier of an authorized multicast packet service, the multicast packet service being provided from a first device connected to the packet switch, receive a multicast packet comprising the identifier from a different second device connected to the packet switch, determine the multicast packet is unauthorized, and prevent the packet switch from forwarding the unauthorized multicast packet to a third device connected to the packet switch. Other packet switches include a first port, a second port, a third port, and forwarding circuitry connected to the first, second, and third ports. The forwarding circuitry is configured to forward first packets comprising a particular multicast destination address received from the first port to the second and third ports and to prevent second packets comprising the particular multicast destination address received from the second port from being forwarded to the third port.
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for preventing the misconfiguration of OSRP and OS/ISIS networks using a NMS, including: configuring a GNE with an address and NE ID for the NMS; forwarding topology information through a management interface to a NMS server; at the NMS server, copying a topology database of all NEs that are connected to the GNE; and, at the NMS server, launching NE mediators for all of the NEs in the topology database. Each NE mediator includes a listener that listens for updates and topology changes within the network.
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for identifying web risks use a web risk service external to network edges of at least one system. The web risk service receives a web request from a computer within the at least one system, the web request identifying at least one network address. The web risk service determines a web risk index score for the at least one network address, and compares the determined web risk index score to at least one threshold value. Based on the comparison, the service determines how to handle the web request, e.g., by forwarding, blocking, and/or logging the web request.
Abstract: A system and process for gasification of a carbonaceous feedstock uses pyrolysis to produce a gas product, which may include methane, ethane, and other desirable hydrocarbon gases, and a solids product, which includes activated carbon or carbon. The gas product may then be filtered using at least a portion of the activated carbon from the solids product as a filtering medium. In an embodiment, at least some of the noxious chemicals are sequestered or removed from the gas product in one or more filtering steps using the activated carbon as a filtering medium. In a further embodiment, the filtering steps are performed in stages using activated carbon at different temperatures. A high-temperature pyrolysis system that produces activated carbon may be combined with another high-temperature pyrolysis system that does not produce activated carbon to provide filtering of noxious compounds using activated carbon from the first high-temperature pyrolysis system.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides optical communication systems and methods that utilize, on top or in place of the conventional framework: (1) optical amplifiers that are provided with extended bandwidth coverage, such as Extended Band Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs), combination of Raman amplifiers and EDFAs, Split-Band C+L EDFAs, etc.
Abstract: Packet switch operating methods and packet switches detect, at a packet switch, a change in a first tunnel's ability to relay packets between the packet switch and another packet switch and, in response, send a control packet to the other packet switch. The control packet indicates a particular one of the tunnels is active on the packet switch. The packet switches are coupled together by the first tunnel and a second tunnel. A packet switch network includes a first packet switch and a second packet switch both configured to recognize disagreement regarding which one of a first tunnel and a second tunnel is active and which one is inactive in response to receiving control packets from each other and resolve the disagreement so that a particular one of the first tunnel and the second tunnel is active according to both the first packet switch and the second packet switch.

Abstract: Systems and methods to reduce passband side-lobes associated with WSS-based ROADMs by applying a filter on each channel are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a comb filter, such as a thin film filter or an interleaver, is utilized. Additionally, the present invention provides systems and methods to adaptively control amplifier target power and per wavelength target power to maintain signal launching power as per design in networks with WSS-based ROADMs. Accordingly, signal OSNR does not collapse faster than other similar configured system without WSS-based ROADM. In order to correct amplifier target power, the present invention utilizes system information about side-lobe size and OSNR at each amplifier.
Abstract: Methods and systems for disrupting potential attacks on a wireless network through transmission of random data are disclosed. Specifically, this disclosure relates to systems and methods for disrupting the breaking of the secret key or passphrase by an adversary or rogue device for Wi-Fi networks using wired equivalent privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi protected access (WPA).
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for secure and authentic electronic collaboration between a plurality of users using a combination of biometric security, a separate and secure network infrastructure, management processes, encrypted electronic storage, and collaborative templates. In an exemplary embodiment, an online collaboration system includes a server including a network interface connected to the Internet, a data store including electronic data storage, and a processor, wherein each of the network interface, the data store and the processor are communicatively coupled, and wherein the network interface, the data store and the processor are collectively configured to: biometrically authenticate a plurality of users; and enable online collaboration between the plurality of users.
Abstract: The present invention provides scalable and rapid Ethernet fault detection which eliminates the requirement to contiguously send heartbeat frames at regular intervals to detect connectivity faults for each Ethernet Path. The present invention generates Continuity Check Message (CCM) frames only when a fault occurs, continues generating CCM frames while the fault remains, and discontinues when the fault clears. The present invention can be utilized with Ethernet Protection Switching to rapidly detect faults. Additionally, the present invention can be used in any Ethernet topology including point-to-point, rings, and the like.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for rapid circuit provisioning in Optical Transport Networks (OTN) using signaling and routing protocols thereby enabling fast mesh restoration. The present invention utilizes a shim layer between OTN messaging (e.g., GCC or High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC)) and the associated signaling and routing protocol (e.g., OSRP, GMPLS, etc.). If an ODUk Connection CTP or TTP needs to be created, the shim layer runs a fast “OTN Setup” protocol, while buffering out going OTN messages. Incoming messages are still processed and do not require additional buffering. The purpose of the OTN Setup protocol is to allow the OTUk to re-frame on its client ODUk, while buffering out-going messages. When re-framing completes, buffers are released and the OTN messaging resumes without dropping any of the signaling frames.

Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for a receiver threshold optimization loop to provide self-contained automatic adjustment in a compact module, such as a pluggable optical transceiver. The receiver threshold optimization loop utilizes a performance metric associated with the receiver, such as FEC, to optimize performance of the receiver. The receiver is optimized through a change in the receiver threshold responsive to the performance metric. Advantageously, the present invention provides improved receiver performance through a continuous adjustment that is self-contained within the receiver, such as within a pluggable optical transceiver compliant to a multi-source agreement (MSA). The receiver threshold optimization loop can include a fine and a coarse sweep of adjustment from an initial setting.
