  • Patent number: 7547453
Abstract: Disclosed is a product and method for transplanting biological fluids into a host animal (including humans) that have been collected from donor animals. These biological fluids have been purified and processed so that they are acellular, sterile, pathogen free, and a form that can be stored for considerable periods of time without degradation. In one embodiment, synovial fluid is harvested from a large number of donors to produce the transplantation compound. Donor fluid is collected from a number of joints per animal, and initially screened for obvious abnormalities (clarity, color, viscosity . . . etc.) and accepted or rejected on a joint-by-joint basis at the time of collection. The collected fluid is frozen in the field. Once in a laboratory setting, the fluid is warmed and spun down in a centrifuge. The supernate is collected, filtered, and mixed in large batches while the permeate is discarded.

  • Patent number: 7542934
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for analyzing waveforms to determine the existence of certain patterns in those waveforms. The existence of certain patterns can be used by investors to make decisions regarding the purchase or sale of stocks. The processes include a determination of the formation of a base, whether the pattern formed in the base is a cup or saucer, whether there is a double bottom in the base, if a base has broken out and if a handle exists on a cup, as well as other patterns.

  • Patent number: 7542858
Abstract: A simulated battery test device and method that is capable of testing a battery charging circuit and logic circuit to determine proper operation. An operational amplifier is used that can both source and sink current to simulate the operation of the battery. A battery low signal can be generated using the simulated battery test device to test a battery charging circuit and logic circuit in a battery low condition. In addition, a battery open signal can be generated to test the battery charging and logic circuit in a battery open condition. Charging currents are detected to determine if currents fall within an acceptable range.

  • Patent number: 7539798
Abstract: The present invention provides a device and method for mitigating performance degradation caused by SATA drives attached to a SAS domain. In one of the embodiments of the present invention, a SATA degradation mitigation device (“SDMD”) is installed between a SAS domain and one or more SATA drives. The SDMD effectively reduces congestion on intermediate links by buffering SATA data and transmitting the data at a rate which is higher than the rate at which the SATA data is received from a drive. Conversely, write data from the SAS domain may be buffered at the SDMD at a higher rate and subsequently sent to the SATA drive at a lower rate. This SATA data buffering and subsequent increase in data rate improves the overall efficiency of a SAS domain storage system by reducing data congestion arising out of low-performance SATA drives clogging the intermediate links.

  • Patent number: 7518316
Abstract: Disclosed is a low cost LED string circuit design that uses an inexpensive half-wave rectification and low-pass filter circuit that is designed to produce minimal flicker in the LED string that is connected to the circuit. The components of the half-wave rectification and low-pass filter circuit are selected in accordance with design principles that prevent glittering and flickering of the LED string. The circuit components of the half-wave rectification and low-pass filter circuit can be embedded in an outlet plug or as a separate independent unit between an AC power plug and the LED string.

  • Patent number: 7506475
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-coil spring assembly that is mounted in the weight pocket of a vertically operating window. The multi-coil spring assembly allows the user to attach a desired number of multi-coil springs having chosen constant forces to the counterbalance connector to provide the desired amount of counterbalance force to the sash of a vertically operating window. The multi-coil spring assembly may be rotated into an interior portion of the window to permit straightforward attachment to the counterbalance connector and then retracted into the weight pocket in a recessed position for normal window operation.

  • Patent number: 7506385
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for a bathing and transfer chair that provides a stand alone wheeled chair that is configurable to engage a stand alone base, adapted to engage a bathing tub and lower the level of the chair thereby submersing the user in the bath water. The seat portion of the device is adaptable to transfer an individual from the wheeled chair portion of the device, positioned outside of the bathing area, to the submersing base which is positioned within the bathing area. The described embodiments can be custom fit to individual's dimensions, or be refit at any time to accommodate growth and/or size changes. Legs, calf support and back angles as well as chair height can be adjusted independently to maximize positioning options to accommodate the support and comfort of the user.

  • Patent number: 7503185
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and device to increase the cooling load that can be provided by a refrigerant-based thermal energy storage and cooling system with an improved arrangement of heat exchangers. This load increase is accomplished by circulating cold water surrounding a block of ice, used as the thermal energy storage medium, through a secondary heat exchanger where it condenses refrigerant vapor returning from a load. The refrigerant is then circulated through a primary heat exchanger within the block of ice where it is further cooled and condensed. This system is known as an internal/external melt system because the thermal energy, stored in the form of ice, is melted internally by a primary heat exchanger and externally by circulating cold water from the periphery of the block through a secondary heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 7503741
Abstract: Disclosed is a device and method for forming a curl in a closable container. A process of forming a pre-curl is used, which is followed by a second separate step of forming the completed curl. The two-step process provides for higher tolerances with respect to the shape of the curl that allows the curl to be used as a sealing surface for a recloseable metal bottle. A three-step process provides for even greater tolerances and reduces longitudinal forces by completing the curl using lateral forces. Also, a die curler is disclosed that has an eccentric motion that forms a curl in a single progressive curling process.

  • Patent number: 7484847
Abstract: Eyeglasses including video displays that may be pivoted forwardly and outwardly to an open position for viewing through the lenses of the eyeglasses, and may be folded rearwardly and inwardly to a stored position for retention by the temple members of the eyeglasses when not in use, are described. The eyeglasses further include cameras facing forward of the eyeglasses and disposed opposite the video displays. Telescoping arms permit adjustment of the distance between the video displays and the lenses to suit a user. The video displays may be mildly concave in shape such that when in the closed position against the temple members, the eyeglasses present the appearance and function of conventional eyewear.

  • Patent number: 7480650
Abstract: Disclosed is a netlist query language that reads and updates electrical circuit data stored in a netlist database that stores electrical circuit data parsed from a netlist text file. To obtain the netlist text file, an electrical circuit schematic of an electrical circuit is created using a commercially available electrical schematic capture software tool. The electrical schematic capture software tool is then directed to create the netlist text file that is representative of the electrical circuit. The netlist text file is then parsed, and the parsed netlist data that is representative of the electrical circuit is stored in the netlist database. The netlist database provides netlist database access subroutines that allow a software program to read and update data stored in the netlist database. Sophisticated programming skills are required to read and update the netlist database using the netlist database access subroutines.
