  • Patent number: 7974572
Abstract: When reservation information is inputted, a mobile terminal apparatus (broadcast receiver) 1 stores a mode ID for which the set flag is set at “1” and stored in a mode information memory section 1-3-1 and the inputted reservation information in the reservation information memory section 1-3-3. Subsequently, the apparatus 1 receives a television broadcast or a radio broadcast based on the reservation information. Then, the apparatus 1 judges whether or not the mode ID for which the set flag is set at “1” matches the mode ID that is stored in the reservation information memory section 1-3-3 in the manner so as to be associated with the reservation information. When both match each other, the apparatus 1 outputs the broadcast content to a speaker SP and a display section 1-7, and when both do not match each other, it outputs the broadcast content to a record data memory section 1-3-4.

  • Patent number: 7760709
Abstract: A method for transmitting information related to tandem free operation, where a cellular network comprising a tandem free operation capable coding-decoding unit is connected to a packet network, an entity, which can be a second network or a terminal, is connected to the packet network and data is transmitted over the packet network between the coding-decoding unit on a first side of the packet network and the entity on a second side of the packet network. Here, information about the decoding capabilities and tandem free operation capabilities on the first side of the packet network is transmitted over the packet network to the second side of the packet network. The invention relates also to a decoding information exchange arrangement a decoding information transmission arrangement and to a cellular network element.

  • Patent number: 7671312
Abstract: The present invention provides an optical pickup system including a first light source emitting a light flux with a first wavelength; a second light source emitting a light flux with a second wavelength; and a light-converging optical system converging the light flux with the first wavelength from the first light source with a first magnification onto a first reference surface set at a first depth, and converging the light flux with the second wavelength from the second light source with a second magnification onto a second reference surface set at a second depth. The first and second wavelengths, the first and second depths, and the first and second magnifications satisfy: a first condition according to an aberration and a second condition according to a working distance.

  • Patent number: 7640800
Abstract: A filling level sensor having a lever arm which has a float at one end and is held at its other end by a clip. A resistance network is arranged on a substrate and to which a contact structure is assigned, the resistance network producing an electrical signal for the filling level as a function of the pivoted position of a lever arm. The clip is composed of an electrically conductive plastic and has an electrical contact connected to the clip in an electrically conductive way, such that as the lever arm pivots said contact describes a circular path on the substrate. The area on the substrate over which the electrical contact passes is an electrically conductive contact face and is electrically conductively connected to a connecting line of the filling level sensor.

  • Patent number: 7617722
Abstract: In an electronic device for counting the number of rotations for a tire and wheel assembly, a storage means holds counting information (NbRot) intended to represent the number of rotations counted at each moment. The counting information (NbRot) represents the number of rotations counted from a predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 7522646
Abstract: A vertically emitting semiconductor laser with an external resonator, a semiconductor body (1) in which a quantum well structure (4) is located as active zone that includes quantum wells (6) and barrier layers (5) situated therebetween, and at least one pumping radiation source (9) for irradiating into the active zone at an incidence angle ?p pumping radiation (10) of wavelength ?p. The wavelength ?p and the incidence angle ?p of the pumping radiation are selected in such a way that the absorption of the pumping radiation takes place substantially inside the quantum wells. This avoids the losses during the capture of charge carriers from the barrier layers into the quantum wells that occur in the case of optically pumped semiconductor lasers where the pumping radiation is absorbed in the barrier layers.

  • Patent number: 7344517
Abstract: A medical device for delivering a medicament to a patient. The device includes a syringe barrel assembly having a syringe barrel with a plunger movably insertable therein to expel medicament in the barrel. A needle cannula is connected to a needle cannula hub which is slidably arranged in the barrel for moving between an initial position in which the forward tip is exposed and a retracted position in which the forward tip is contained within the barrel. A retainer engages an annular groove defined in an inner surface of the barrel and secures the needle cannula hub at the initial position proximate the front end of the barrel. An urging member is arranged between the front end of the barrel and the needle cannula hub for urging the needle cannula hub toward the retracted position. The retainer is released in response to the application of medicament delivery force when the stopper is in a fully inserted position.

  • Patent number: 7224972
Abstract: In a mobile telecommunications system, when it is determined that a mobile terminal should be handed over from a first cell (primary cell) to a second cell (target cell), the target cell is chosen based on measurements of link quality in the primary network at the time when it is determined that handover is necessary, as well as on stored data indicative of the respective probabilities that different potential target cells will be the best handover target from a particular primary cell. This enables an appropriate choice of target cell to be made even in a case where it is not possible to make measurements on the target cells at the time when it is determined that handover is necessary (for example because handover is to a target cell that operates at a different frequency from that of the primary cell).

  • Patent number: 7202950
Abstract: In an apparatus and method for measuring retardance and slow axis azimuth in sample specimens, a sample is illuminated by circularly polarized monochromatic light which is then analyzed by an elliptical analyzer at different settings. In another embodiment, light conditioned by an elliptical polarizer at various settings illuminates a specimen and the beam exiting the sample is analyzed by a circular analyzer. The elliptical analyzer/polarizer may have selectable ellipticity and azimuth angle, including in some cases a setting of circular polarization. Background images obtained with selected settings of the elliptical analyzer/polarizer, but without the sample present, are used in some embodiments to improve the measurement.
