  • Patent number: 7513463
Abstract: The invention relates to a rail-guided system for transporting persons and material in underground mining and tunnel construction. The rail-guided transport system comprises a railroad network and transport vehicles that are guided in the railroad network. In the transport system, both the forward end and the opposite end of the respective transport vehicle are equipped with sensors (1-6) for detecting optical, acoustic, thermal, and acceleration data, “forward” being relative to the direction of travel. The sensors (1-6) are connected to a control computer that is disposed inside the transport vehicle while interacting with active and passive transducers located within the railroad network.

  • Patent number: 6404209
Abstract: A measuring instrument (11) for fill level sensors (4) having a measuring electrode (6) and a compensating electrode (9). The measuring instrument (11) has a bridge circuit whose one bridge branch (21) is formed by two series-connected test resistors (23, 24). The other bridge branch (22) is formed by the measuring resistor (17) on the measuring electrode (6) and the compensating resistor (18) on the compensating electrode (9). Between the two bridge branches (21, 22) a diagonal line (26) with a test switch (27) is provided. The measuring instrument (11) is controlled by the control circuit (13) so that the diagonal line (26) is closed outside of preset test time periods, and interrupted at preset test time periods. The end of the diagonal line (26) located between the two test resistors (23, 24) is connected to the base potential (25) of the measuring circuit (12).

  • Patent number: 6291991
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for continuously monitoring the junction of a conveyor belt which is made of rubber or a rubber-type plastic material and which comprises supports inserted therein for reinforcing the same. In an advantageous embodiment, the device essentially comprises the following constituent members for the junction area: mainly four reference marks, two addresses as well as four detection heads, the heads being located above the carrier surface of the conveyor belt. This invention further relates to other advantageous embodiments of this device.

  • Patent number: 5497950
Abstract: A rotor for use in a disintegrating machine comprises a rotor body adapted to be rotated about its axis and provided at its periphery with a plurality of receptacles extending parallel to the axis, each receptacle having on one side an opening facing in the direction of rotation. The rotor further comprises a plurality of beater bars, each of which has a bar body extending in a direction which is parallel to the axis and has a symmetrical cross-section. Each bar body has at least one retaining extension supported in a respective receptacle, has a longitudinal plane of symmetry extending in a direction which is substantially parallel to a tangent to a flight circle defined by an outer periphery of the bar bodies of the beater bars upon rotation of the rotor body, and is provided with axially spaced apart knife edges which protrude at the periphery to be contiguous to the flight circle, are symmetrical to the plane of symmetry and extend in planes which are normal to the axis.
