Abstract: A filter body of an air filter, comprising a cylindrical filter member with an end disk on at least one axial end. This end disk comprises a radially effective seal which is arranged radially in relation to the arrangement on a sealing surface when the filter body is mounted in a filter housing. This end disk also comprises a supporting section which extends, relative to the filter member, in a ring shaped manner on the axially outer side of the end disk. This supporting section is designed to be axially elastic. When the filter body is mounted in a filter housing, this supporting section is supported by a support contour formed on the filter housing and extending parallel to the end disk. In this case, the filter body can be axially positioned in the filter housing.
Abstract: The invention concerns an office accessory or sheet folding device, designed and adapted to facilitate accurate folding of paper sheets of standard height and width for insertion into commercial envelopes with corresponding dimensions. The sheet folding device which can be made in plastic, comprises a planar base having a width substantially equal to the width of the sheet to be folded. Limit stops extend at the lower edge of the base. The limit stops project slightly above the base to serve as support to the lower edge of the sheets to be folded. At least two folding guides extend transversely over the entire width of the base at specific heights from the lower edge thereof.
Abstract: A method of forming a shimming body for a NMR assembly is provided. A magnetizable metal powder of known magnetic properties is provided. The powder is uniformly dispersed into a non-magnetic material to form a mixture having a selected uniform density. A selected weight of magnetic material is determined for a particular installation of an NMR assembly. The mixture is heated. A selected volume corresponding to the selected weight of magnetic material is extruded into a container. The mixture is cooled to form a shimming body.

Abstract: An access control system is described. The access control system comprises at least one mobile transponder to be carried by a person, which has an authorization code, and at least one local control station having a reader, by means of which the authorization code of the transponder can be read as it is moved close to the reader in a non-contact manner and can be transmitted over a network to a primary and/or central code-evaluation device. In addition, biometric recording of inalienable characteristics of the person carrying the transponder and comparison of the recorded biometric characteristics to stored biometric data can be undertaken locally. Depending on the outcome of the comparison, a data word containing the authorization code of the transponder or the data word itself can be transmitted over the network to the code-evaluation device.
Abstract: A workpiece holder for rotary grinding machines for grinding semiconductor afers has a rotatable work surface which points toward a rotating grinding tool and on which the semiconductor wafer to be machined is laid, and has piezoelectric elements on which the workpiece holder is axially supported. The piezoelectric elements can be operated independently of one another and, when operated, undergo a change in their linear dimension, an operated piezoelectric element axially raising or lowering the workpiece holder at the point at which it supports the workpiece holder. There is also a method for positioning the workpiece holder.
