Abstract: An insole which extends from the toes to the heel includes at least one fluid-filled container; a control unit for enabling a user to increase or reduce an amount of fluid in the container; and a stirrup-shaped device for immobilizing the talocalcaneonavicular joint and for controlling and/or stabilizing the ankle joint. The insole is a prefabricated insole selectable from a range of differently shaped insoles for the various forms of foot prophylaxis and the various shoe sizes. The insole can also be configured in combination with a athletic sock and can be configured as a partial insole. This enables users to adapt the prefabricated insoles suitable for their shoe size and form of foot prophylaxis to their own personal needs.
Abstract: A device for sealing a gap between a door and a floor or between a window and a window frame comprises a deformable sealing element that seals the gap when the door or window is closed, and an L-shaped activation rail attached to the sealing element and having a vertical shank and a horizontal shank. The sealing element is attached at a free end of the horizontal shank. The activation rail engages with a door frame, or window frame. The activation rail is pivoted when the door or window is being closed and causes the sealing element to engage the floor or window frame. There is an attachment rail for affixing the sealing element to a door or window and arranged on a first side wall of the attachment rail. The attachment rail has an L-shaped cross section, and the sealing element is arranged between the activation rail and a second side wall of the attachment rail. The activation rail is joined to an upper end of an upright-standing shank of the attachment rail.
Abstract: A blade scraping tool including a hand gripping casing formed of a top covering and a bottom covering; a resilient plate mounted inside the casing; a blade; a blade mounting device; and an interlocking assembly. The resilient plate is slidably movable along a longitudinal slot on the top covering by actuating a push button thereon to release engagement of the interlocking assembly. The interlocking assembly cooperates with the resilient plate and the top covering for locking the plate into different positions by actuating and sliding the push button; a first position where the blade is entirely retracted within the casing, a second position where the blade is exposed for scraping, and a third position where the blade is exposed far enough for mounting and removal of the blade from the blade mounting device. The tool preferably includes a peripheral elastomer rim along a portion of the periphery of the casing.

An X-ray device for contactless control of the shipping container is mounted on the crane, and the shipping containers are driven through the X-ray device. This offers the advantage that shipping containers can be checked in a quick and safe manner.
Abstract: A method for drilling shaker bores into a cooling channel of a single-part piston, in which gudgeon-pin bosses each having a gudgeon-pin bore and piston shaft elements are molded onto the piston head via a tie-up substantially extending fully around in the form of a ring. Passage bores are drilled into the tie-up coaxially with the shaker bores to be drilled into the cooling channel, and the shaker bore is drilled into the underside of the piston head with a drilling bit inserted in the respective passage bore.
Abstract: A ring filter comprising a star-shaped folded filtering material and a closure on both front sides thereof in the form of a closed end disc. This closure has a plate-shaped insert forming the central area of the closure and located radially inside the filtering material. The insert is made of a different material from that of the rest of the closure. The invention aims at providing a ring filter than can be rationally produced and that is more resistant and durable. To this end, the ring filter has a radially permeable tubular frame that extends approximately along the entire axial length of the ring filter that borders radially inward on the filtering material; and wherein the plate-shaped insert is connected to the tubular frame and wherein the material of the closure is a foamed plastic.

Abstract: An expandable toy having a plurality of fabric panels joined along their sides forming a desired shape and defining an interior space. These panels also define a single aperture at the top of the toy that provides access to the interior space. A plurality of elastic bands run along the interior surface of the fabric panels. An inflatable device is disposed within the interior space and the neck of the inflatable device is accessible through the single aperture at the top of the toy. Air is forced into the inflatable device, expanding the inflatable device and when large enough expanding the plurality of elastic bands so that the toy may achieve a desired size. The inflatable device is then sealed and a fabric lid is closed to cover the single aperture when the desired size is achieved.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing UV polarizers, according to which spheroid particles situated near the surface of the glass are incorporated into the support material (primarily standard float glass) in a novel arrangement. According to the method for producing UV polarizers, after the introduction of metal ions (e.g., silver ions) into the glass surface, a large size distribution of particles is achieved by multiple alternation of a heat treatment for separating out spherical metal particles, followed by the renewed introduction of metal ions and a subsequent heat treatment. A deformation of the glass produces spheroid particles of various sizes and different semi-axis relationships. The particles are characterized by their large size distribution and are deformed differently in relation to their spheroid shape. In this way UV polarizers are produced which have a wide absorption range since the absorption bands having different maximum positions overlap.

Abstract: A process for producing a semiconductor wafer is based upon etching the semiconductor wafer with an etching medium flowing in a laminar flow along a direction of flow toward an edge of the semiconductor wafer. There is a protective shield arranged in front of the edge of the semiconductor wafer, so that the etching medium flows onto the protective shield and not onto the edge of the semiconductor wafer. There is also a process that has the semiconductor wafer being inclined with respect to the direction of flow of the etching medium, so that there is an angle of less than 180° between the direction of flow of the etching medium and a first side of the semiconductor wafer. Also, there is an angle of greater than 180° between the direction of flow of the etching medium and a second side of the semiconductor wafer, and the second side of the semiconductor wafer is subsequently polished.
