Abstract: An ostomy bag with a filter assembly having a gas filter and a pre-filter for preventing or delaying solid/semisolid matter and liquid from reaching the gas filter. The pre-filter is at least substantially flat and comprises a number of constrictions, such as ribs extending along and between two inner surface parts of the channel. These constrictions/ribs form narrower and wider passages where the gas may more quickly pass a narrow passage and where the wider passages tend to receive and hold the liquid, solid matter and semisolid matter. At least a part of the constrictions may be provided in a random pattern.

Abstract: A catheter assembly with a catheter and a package for a catheter are provided. The package and catheter is provided with a seal that restricts passage of fluid between the package and the catheter. The assembly allows the catheter to be used without complete removal from the package. During urination, the assembly prevents the flow of urine from the outlet of the catheter and back through the package in a direction towards the user of the catheter. The seal allows the catheter to be dispensed from the package while the sealing is maintained and the assembly thus allows non-contaminated insertion and use of the catheter while the catheter is partly maintained in the package.

Abstract: A disposable ostomy receiving bag having front and rear walls sealed together along the rim thereof and having a top end and a bottom end, and a cover of a sheet material covering one or both surfaces of the bag and only secured to the wall along the part of the rim being superimposed on the sealed rim of the front and rear walls. The bottom end can be folded to reduce the size of the bag, with the folded end discreetly hidden under the cover sheet. Should a larger collecting volume be needed, unfolding of the bag allows for an easy enlargement of the active volume of the bag simply by withdrawing the end of the bag from under the cover sheet.

Abstract: A method of implanting a penile prosthesis into a patient includes engaging a cap that is attached to a cylinder of the penile prosthesis with a distal end of a tool, and cradling the cylinder of the penile prosthesis between two support arms of the tool. The method additionally includes inserting the two support arms of the tool and the cylinder secured between the two support arms into a corpora cavernosum of the patient.

Abstract: An implant suitable for treatment of treatment of vaginal and/or uterine prolapse and/or pelvic floor reconstruction. The implant comprises a vaginal support member substantially sized or shaped to the portion of the vaginal wall to be supported and at least two extension portions projecting from the support member, wherein at least one extension portion has fixation means for anchoring the extension portion into pelvic paravaginal fibro-fatty issue without being faxed into defined structural tissues. A method of treating treatment of vaginal and/or uterine prolapse and/or pelvic floor reconstruction using the implant is also provided.

The method includes providing a penile implant having a delivered length that is approximately equal to the predetermined corporotomy length and comprising a distance that extends from a distal end of a distal tip to a proximal end of a proximal tip assembly, the proximal tip assembly providing a first proximal tip diameter. The method additionally includes reducing the first proximal tip diameter to a smaller implantable proximal tip diameter.

Abstract: An implantable penile prosthesis system includes a penile prosthesis and an insertion tool. The penile prosthesis includes a cylinder extending between a distal tip and a proximal tip. At least one of the distal tip and the proximal tip has a pocket accessible by an opening, where the pocket is formed to extend laterally beyond a perimeter of the opening. The insertion tool extends between a distal end and a proximal end and includes an expansion mechanism coupled to the distal end. The opening in the tip(s) is sized to receive the distal end of the insertion tool and the expansion mechanism is configured to expand into the pocket to couple the insertion tool with the penile prosthesis.

The laser light is provided through one of the parts having a low or lower absorption of the laser light. The other part has a higher absorption of the laser light, whereby the interface between the two parts is heated at the welding zone(s) of the laser light. In this manner, an assembly is obtained independently of the thicknesses of the materials and even close to openings or other edges.

The catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter, a catheter package and a sealing member. The urinary catheter defines a conduit and has a proximal end adapted for insertion into the urinary canal and an opposite distal end. The catheter package has a hose with a cavity for accommodation of the catheter, and a catheter outlet adapted to dismantle the proximal end of the catheter from the catheter package. A protective sheet having an opening for application of a pharmaceutical product to the adhesive prior to application of the dressing sheet is disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a foam dressing with a bevelled edge and where the density at the edge is higher than the density at the central part of the foam. The high density at the edges causes gel blocking of the wound exudate thereby preventing leakage of exudate through the edges. In a preferred embodiment the foam dressing is non-adhesive. The foam dressing may have a water-impervious backing layer, which extends all the way over the top of the dressing and down to the wound-contacting surface. The wound dressing is particularly useful in treatment of venous ulcers in connection with compression bandages, as the bevelling of the edges markedly reduces the indentations in the leg following use of this dressing when compared to a dressing with straight edges.
