  • Patent number: 5231949
Abstract: This invention is an improved boat hull design for stable operation as a planing-type hull in a wide range of water conditions. The hull is comprised of a substantially V-shaped central hull portion and a pair of adjacent side floats, one on each side of the central hull. The inner walls of the side floats are substantially vertical, and the floats are stepped upwardly at approximately midships, such that the rear portion of the side floats is substantially horizontal, or parallel to the plane of the water surface. At least one pair of flat surfaces are formed along the bottom portion of the hull positioned at the intersection of lowermost strakes and steps formed on each side of the hull, so as to provide substantially improved stability and attitude when running at high speed on rough water. A dihedral tunnel is formed by the concavely-curved surfaces of the central hull in combination with the inner walls of the side floats.

  • Patent number: 5129882
Abstract: A wound clotting device is disclosed comprising a clotting device for dispensing a clotting agent onto a selected location in a patient while being retained adjacent to that location, comprising a tube having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion; means defining an inflation lumen in said tube extending between said proximal and distal end portions; inflatable retention means carried by said tube at said distal end portion for retaining said distal end at a selected location within the body of a living patient, said retention means being in fluid communication with said inflation lumen; means defining a second lumen in said tube extending between said proximal and distal end portions; means for receiving a quantity of clotting agent located within said second lumen; and means disposed within said second lumen for dispensing said clotting agent from said distal end of said second lumen to deposit said clotting agent at said selected location within a patient.

  • Patent number: 4959905
Abstract: A food cutting device is disclosed which has particular application in cutting pizza pies and the like. A dull, convexly curved blade attached to concavely curved handle extending over the entire length of the blade allows the user to sever a pizza pie in a smooth rocking motion. The cutting device may be stored during non-use in a holder having an elongated receptacle for receiving the blade of the cutting device.
