    Abstract: Radiogra phic screens of reduced quantum noise are prepared from spherical aggregates of randomly oriented plate shaped or needle shaped phosphor particles. These spherical aggregates are produced by spray drying a slurry of the phosphor particles dispersed in a liquid medium in which is dissolved a suitable binder.
