  • Patent number: 8187266
Abstract: A surgical probe and methods for targeted treatment of structures of the heart with heat and radiofrequency energy. The probe which is designed to operated by hand has a elongate member with a handle and an energy-delivering member in an adjustable loop configuration. The control placed on the handle allow the user to alter the length of the loop configuration of the energy-delivering member and to thus place energy-delivering elements located on the energy-delivering member at selected or targeted portions of the heart or structures within the heart. The elongate member is conformable and can be bent into different configurations to allow additional targeted treatment of the particular portions of the heart.

  • Patent number: 8178137
Abstract: Pomegranate juice consumption by a patient may be used to treat prostate cancer. Prior to the present invention, it has been observed that various pomegranate compositions have cancer chemopreventive properties on various in vitro treatment of human prostate cancer cell lines and in vivo treatment of human prostate cancer cell lines xenografted in athymic nude mice. Until the discovery of the present invention, it was not known if there is an efficacy for treating prostate cancer in human patient by any route of administration. The present invention provides a method of treating a subject with prostate cancer a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an extract from pomegranate fruit. The extract of pomegranate may be a juice extract of pomegranate, an extract from inner or outer peel of pomegranate, or mixture thereof. Pomegranate juice may be used to treat subjects with rising serum PSA after prostate surgery or radiotherapy.

  • Patent number: 7856753
Abstract: An easily disassembled navel orangeworm egg trap apparatus which facilitates easy cleaning, inspection, maintenance, reloading, and repair. One or more embodiments of the invention enable orchard workers in the field to easily disassemble a navel orangeworm egg trap for cleaning, inspection, and repair. In one or more embodiments of the invention, at least one chamber section that is detachably coupled along the length of the chamber section. The chamber disassembles along the length of the chamber sections, thus exposing the inner surfaces of the ovipositional bait attractant chamber. By offering an easily disassembled chamber that exposes the inner surface, navel orangeworm egg traps are easily cleaned and repaired in the field.

  • Patent number: 7809696
Abstract: A system and method for matching similar master data using associated behavioral data, for example transactional data. Matching accuracy is significantly increased. Master data may be thought of as nouns. Behavioral data is associated with master data as verbs are related to nouns. Specifically, behavioral data is data associated with an action taken by a master data object. Behavioral data may include temporal and non-temporal data. Temporal data for example may include time and/or duration that a behavior occurred. Non-temporal data may include a physical location, a product, a phone number or any other quantity other than time. Using behavioral data in duplication testing adds another dimension to de-duplication that is not achieved through comparison of master data object fields alone. For example, a duplication test on two similar “person” records with similar “name” field values is improved by comparing associated “behavior” data, (phone numbers called by each “similar person”).

  • Patent number: 7805666
Abstract: A multi-layered data model for determining image choice across a set of audience-specific documents comprising language, regional, regulatory and/or cultural differences. Enables generation of audience-specific documents with audience specific images and audience-specific image placement based on inheritance of images and image metadata associated with hierarchical audiences. For data entry, enables a user to rapidly determine if images in an audience specific document conform to the expectations or requirements of an intended audience. The data entry and edit interface distinguishes between current and inherited audience levels through the use of color or any other mechanism that allows a user to quickly identify data that is missing and needs to be populated, changed or remain unchanged if the inherited image or image title or placement is suitable for the given audience. Documents are generated to any number of media types such as HTML, XML and paper.

  • Patent number: 7792814
Abstract: A user interface for parsing unstructured data using pattern recognition. The patterns used in parsing data are formed from regular expressions. The parsed data may be displayed in a first format and unmatched strings in the unstructured text may be displayed in a second format. A format may comprise a desired color, font or any other user interface parameter. In addition, the data that parses according to a pattern may be placed in a column associated with the pattern in a tabular user interface, for example a spreadsheet like Excel™. Associating a pattern with a position to display successful matches in allows for breaking unstructured text into pieces associated with a particular field or column. Modification of the patterns allows for more and more of the unstructured text to match the patterns and when the data has been parsed to the desired level, the data may be imported into a database.
