  • Patent number: 8340903
Abstract: Disclosed is a system to provide optimum guidance for an individual seeking the destination point in a complex building. The system can be used for a range of individuals from firemen seeking an optimized and accurately mapped path from an access point at the entrance to the building to a destination point where a fire alarm has gone off or for a visitor in the museum who is seeking a path to a particular desired display destination. The system can provide multiple sequential simplified floor configuration maps. These maps are designed to show foreshortened walls so as to provide a three-dimensional maze-like format with the pathways visible and with a track mark illustrating an optimal path for the user to follow within the area shown on the map.

  • Patent number: 6920284
Abstract: A viewfinder display apparatus which can realize superimpose having good visibility without giving uncomfortable feeling to a photographer is disclosed. The viewfinder display apparatus includes an eyepiece lens unit, an a member on which illumination unit which irradiates illumination light, and a plurality of region display sections arranged in a viewfinder optical path respectively to correspond to the focus detection regions. Each of the region display sections includes an outer frame which partially transmits light from an object to display edges of the focus detection regions in the viewfinder field and reflecting region in which reflecting surface which reflects illumination light from the illumination unit to guide the reflected light to the eyepiece lens unit are formed.

  • Patent number: 6350983
Abstract: A micro-electromechanical optical inertial sensing device comprises a CMOS chip (3), comprising at least one integrated photodiode (6) and analog electronics; an elastically suspended proof mass (1); and a light source (4). A light beam from the light source casts a partial shadow of the proof mass over the photodiode when the proof mass is at rest. When subjected to an inertial movement, the proof mass swings causing the partial shadow to shift and modulate the illumination of the photodiode. An output current signal from the photodiode is processed by the analog electronics to generate measurement results.

  • Patent number: 6348045
Abstract: A catheter is disclosed, comprising an elongated body, having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein at the distal end of said catheter a cap is provided, attached to said distal end, said cap provided with passage adapted to receive a guide-wire slidingly passing through it. Another preferred embodiment of the present invention is a catheter having a distal and proximal ends wherein said catheter is provided with a cap at its distal end said cap provided with a loop attached to it adapted to receive a guide-wire to pass through said loop. Yet another preferred embodiment of the present invention is a catheter having a distal and proximal ends wherein said catheter is provided with external coating said coating at the distal end of the catheter provided with a cleavage and a perforation substantially opposite the cleavage so as to allow a guide-wire to be passed through the cleavage and be threaded through said perforation.

  • Patent number: 6176525
Abstract: A method for installing a flange on the end of a tubular member lined with a thermoplastic liner is provided. The flange is formed with a groove having extrusion openings extending from the front to the rear surface of the flange, the groove for receiving the reformed end of the liner which is forced into the extrusion openings and extends above the front surface of the flange to provide a surface for securing with a corresponding flange.

  • Patent number: 6168751
Abstract: A multi-layer roll having a thin fluoropolymer top coat on an elastomeric base layer bonded to a substantially rigid insert is provided. The top coat is formed by placing a thin non-self supporting fluoropolymer sleeve and about the insert, or wrapping within extruded fluoropolymer film about the insert which is placed in a mold sleeve and positioned in a book mold to holds the membrane in place. Liquid or flowable elastomer is injected into the space between the insert and flexible top coat at a point downstream of where the top layer is held in position between mold elements to prevent wrinkling. The mold is then heated to cure the elastomer.
