  • Patent number: 8046021
Abstract: There is provided a communication control technique in which it is possible to avoid interference with another wireless communication system. This invention is characterized by a control station which controls wireless communication of dependent stations. When a dependent station newly starts, the control station determines whether a beacon transmitted by the dependent station is received by another wireless communication network. When determining that the beacon is received by the other wireless communication network, the control station instructs the dependent station to lower the transmission power until the beacon is not received.

  • Patent number: 8044965
Abstract: In order to calculate the calorimetric value of a color patch under a given viewing illuminant, a plurality of colorimetric value sets obtained by measuring the colors of color patches under a plurality of illuminants are stored in a memory, the type of spectral distribution and white point information of the viewing illuminant are obtained (S12), and a calorimetric value set corresponding to the type of spectral distribution of the viewing illuminant is selected (S13). A colorimetric value set under the viewing illuminant is calculated from the selected calorimetric value set, on the basis of the white point information of the viewing illuminant and the white point information of the illuminant of the selected colorimetric value set (S14).

  • Patent number: 8041191
Abstract: When the recording format of an image recorded on a magnetic tape (709) is changed, a playback time period of an image signal by a REC review function is extended. Even when the recording format is changed during playback of an image signal by the REC review function, an image (409) recorded in the recording format after change can be displayed after a blue-backed screen (408) is displayed. Therefore, the user can determine whether the blue-backed screen (408) is displayed due to switching of the system or due to an unrecorded part of an image signal. Hence, the user can be prevented from overwriting a new image signal on the recorded region of an image signal by mistake.

  • Patent number: 8040415
Abstract: An image sensing apparatus that controls exposure includes a signal processing unit for processing the output signal of a image sensing element, an aperture control unit for controlling aperture, and an external sensor for measuring the brightness of an object. In this case, exposure is controlled using the luminance information of both the image data and the external sensor, with the sampling period of the external sensor being set to be shorter than the accumulation period of the solid-state image sensing element. At least one of the aperture and the accumulation period is then controlled, based on the luminance information measured by the external sensor during the accumulation period.
