Abstract: To provide an optical sensor unit in which the respective optical sensor elements can be easily provided on a curved surface without using wirings, a reduction in image pickup speed due to wiring delay is prevented to improve a photographing speed, and highly sensitive photographing is realized. The optical sensor unit is composed of an image pickup area section in which a large number of radio optical sensors are arranged and a radio communication means located in the vicinity thereof. The radio communication means has an image data signal circuit, a radio transmission circuit connected therewith, and an antenna. Each of the radio optical sensors is composed of an optical sensor element, a radio element, and an antenna.

Abstract: In automatically designing a base sequence to be used as a probe which is hybridized with an unknown nucleic acid fragment to perform gene analysis, a discrimination tree in which a plurality of partial base sequences obtained from target base sequence data are arranged on nodes is generated. The suitability as a probe of a partial base sequence represented by a desired node is evaluated. A plurality of partial base sequences are grouped on the basis of specificity, and an appropriate group combination is selected. A partial base sequence to be used as a probe is determined, from partial base sequences belonging to the selected groups, on the basis of the evaluation result. In this manner, a probe appropriate for analysis can be automatically selected in accordance with a target base sequence to be analyzed. This effectively supports probe designing.
Abstract: A lighting fixture display system and method including a light support member for supporting truncated floor-based lighting fixtures and a rail member. The light support members have shelf structures and brackets and are mounted on or attached to the rail member, which in turn may be mounted on or attached to a display wall. The rail members and light support members may be configured to form a display system having multiple horizontal display rows. The display system makes efficient use of retail space, is easy to build, and can be varied to enable various different display configurations as well as allow easy replacement or repair of lighting fixtures.

Abstract: An image-pickup apparatus that has a simple structure is disclosed. The image-pickup apparatus includes a linking box provided with a lens mount portion, an image-pickup device unit that receives light that has passed through the lens mount portion, the linking box and a main chassis that is arranged between the linking box and the image-pickup device unit. The main chassis includes an aperture portion through which the light passes. The linking box is fixed to the main chassis, and the image-pickup device unit is fixed to the linking box.

Abstract: A reproduction apparatus and method for reproducing selected digital data reproduces digital data selected by a user, detects remaining power of a battery, and determines whether the selected digital data can be reproduced to the end or not based on the detected remaining power. Before the selected digital data is reproduced, if it is determined that there is sufficient battery power to reproduce the selected digital data to the end, then the selected digital data is reproduced. If not, a warning is provided and the user selects either a first reproduction mode or a second reproduction mode. If the first reproduction mode is selected, the selected digital data is reproduced. If the second reproduction mode is selected, summary data that includes a summary of the selected digital data is reproduced.
