  • Patent number: 5688040
Abstract: A portable candle lantern with safety features designed to be used with a tub candle. The candle lantern includes an upper cover that selectively attaches to a lower base. The lower base has a plurality of feet with enable it to be supported in an elevated position on a support surface. Located inside the lower base is a candle holding assembly which removably holds a tub candle in an elevated, longitudinally aligned position therein. Formed inside the lower base is a centrally located, longitudinally aligned, upward extending, air delivery tube which delivers cool air directly against the sides of the tub candle and the candle holding assembly. By delivering cool air in this manner, the temperature inside the candle lantern is reduced thereby preventing a "flash" condition from occurring. Also, a collection cavity is formed between the air delivery tube and the sides of the lower base in which spilled wax from the tub candle is collected.

  • Patent number: 5689477
Abstract: A method and apparatus for storing and presenting visual and audible information to an individual. Audio source signals from a stereophonic audio source are processed by a microcontroller-controlled circuit that also receives commands from a programmer. The programmer commands cause the generation of pulsed low audio frequency control signals for each channel. The audio source signals are processed so that their frequencies are translated above the low audio frequency range of the pulsed control signals and inverted. The pulsed control signals are then added to the corresponding processed audio source signals to produce two combined audio signals which are then recorded on a compact disc. To replay the recorded information, the recorded combined audio signals are read from the compact disc. The pulsed control signals and processed audio source signals are separated by filtering and the processed audio source signals are reprocessed to recreate the original audio source signals.

  • Patent number: 5681246
Abstract: An amusement and exercise device which includes an elongated pole pivotally attached at one end to a base which is removably attached to the ground or floor. Attached to the distal end of the pole is a rope which is manipulated by the user which causes the pole to rotate in a circular path around the base and under the user. The user must coordinate his or her arm and wrist movement and jump over the pole to operate the device.

  • Patent number: 5674124
Abstract: This is an air register having a grille member pivotally attached to the register housing. A spring is disposed between the grille member and the register housing which biases the grille member in an upward, diagonal extended position from the central passageway formed inside the register housing. During use, the grille member is automatically disposed in an upward, diagonal extended position which deflects the exiting air at an angle into the room. When a downward force is applied to the top surface of the grille member, say by a person's foot, the grille member is able to pivot downward around one edge into a retracted position inside the central passageway. The air register also includes a pair of overlapping plates controlled by a control knob which control the amount of air exiting from the air register.

  • Patent number: 5575668
Abstract: A temporary power/data tap for delivering both electrical power and data service line to a work surface from a distant standard wall or floor mounted electrical receptacle and data port. The power/data tap is designed to be selectively moved between retract and extended positions to provide electrical power and data service line to the work surface. The power/data tap is a self-contained unit designed for easy installation on the work surface which meets or exceeds United Laboratory standards. At least one electrical receptacle and one data port is mounted on a pivoting outlet enclosure housed inside an enclosure assembly. The electrical receptacle and data port are disposed in two separate compartments formed in the outlet enclosure. A power cord capable of being plugged into a standard wall or floor receptacle delivers electrical power to one side of the enclosure assembly.
