Abstract: A marking apparatus comprises a plurality of containers of colored inks and a solvent connected to a mixing chamber and a rotating applicator. Insulated wire is marked by passing it through the applicator housing which collects the excess colored ink. The excess ink may be returned selectively to either the mixing chamber or a disposal container. Solvent purging of the system permits rapid changeover of colors.
Abstract: An apparatus for tenderizing meat has a movable head member with closely-spaced, independently force-limited cutting elements positioned over a conveyor belt for severing the meat fibers with orthogonally oriented cuts as the meat is successively positioned by longitudinal and lateral movements of the conveyor belt. The cutting elements are secured in position by magnets exerting a predetermined force. When the resistance encountered in the meat exceeds this force, the cutting elements will be pushed back into the movable head member, thereby protecting them from damage.
Abstract: The amount of lift of a valve lifter rocker arm is determined by a rotatably mounted valve pushrod seat having an eccentrically positioned depression for receiving the pushrod end. The seat is rotatably adjusted to one of two predetermined positions to increase or decrease the leverage ratio of the rocker arm. A screwdriver slot in the seat member permits easy adjustment without removing the rocker arm, and a set screw locks the seat member in the desired position.
Abstract: A portable vanity case comprises an enclosure with a lid having a first sectional mirror mounted thereon. Support means within the enclosure holds a removably mounted upstanding leg member and telescoping arm member which has a pivotally-mounted second mirror. A light source within the enclosure is mounted adjacent the first sectional mirror and a third mirror-tray combination is mounted horizontally in the enclosure. Abstract: A wreath form comprises an annular disc having a spirally-wrapped elastic band extending around the entire outer surface area to hold decorative objects in position on the annular disc. Holes are provided in the disc to receive nails to project therethrough. A second and similar structure is fastened in spaced relationship to the annular disc structure when an enlarged wreath is desired.
Abstract: Underwater swimming equipment comprises a container holding a bladder member compressible by a wheel and screw-driven plate member. A fin assembly is connected to the container by a belt and shoulder strap members constituting a swimmer's harness.
