    Abstract: Wall paneling includes a pair of corner panels, a center panel, and pair of end panels, each of a molded unit construction. The corner panels have a pair of right-angular walls and the other panels are flat. Each of the end and center panels have upright marginal enlargements terminating in edge flanges. The inner enlargement of the end panels and both enlargements of the center panel adjustably overlap and receive therein a corresponding portion of a wall of a corner panel and are coplanar therewith respectively. The end panels extend at right angles to the center panels. Adhesive is interposed between the overlapped portions of the end and center panels and corresponding corner panel. Said paneling may be used for covering the end and back walls of tub enclosures.

    Abstract: A cutting apparatus for making circular or circular arc-like cuts in a sheet of material such as paper, cloth, leather, plastic, rubber and the like. A substantially planar base is provided to receivably support said sheet and a hinged apertured clamping plate is lowered over the supported sheet to secure it against movement during the cutting operation which takes place through the aperture. An arcuate arm is secured to the base and an elongated portion of the arm positions an internally-threaded vertically-oriented boss above the aperture. An externally-threaded member is operably received within the boss and includes an adjustment disc for turning said member to raise or lower same within said boss. A blade-positioning shaft is received within a vertically-oriented central bore in the member and includes a shoulder to secure the shaft for vertical movement with the member. The lower distal end of the shaft includes a threaded pin for being slideably received within a radius selecting slot of the blade.

    Abstract: The conveyor belt cleaner serves as a mechanical cleaner for an endless conveyor belt entrained about a pair of drums and includes a plurality of independently operable scraper or wiper blade assemblies for removing from the conveyor belt various types of abrasives and other objectionable foreign material. Each scraper blade assembly includes an elongated arm or lever which is pivotally mounted on a pivot pin of a bracket assembly. Adjustable stop means is interposed between the bracket assembly and the arm at one side of the pivot pin to limit the pivotal movement of the arm in one direction. An extension spring is interposed between the bracket assembly and the arm at the other side of the pivot pin for urging the arm in said one direction to bias the scraper blade, secured to one end of the arm, towards the belt. As the blade wears, the extension spring pivots the arm and continues to bias the blade towards the belt, with the pivoting of the arm being limited by the adjustable stop means.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method for filtering suspended oil contaminants from an aqueous-based liquid. The method includes flowing the contaminated liquid through a bed of granulated black walnut shells which have a relatively weak affinity for oil. The suspended oil is coalesced during flow through the filter bed to form globular oil particles that are large enough to become entrapped in the interstices of the filter bed. After a substantial quantity of oil has been accumulated in the filter bed, the bed is rejuvenated by flowing backwash liquid therethrough to provide a high velocity scrubbing to free at least a portion of the accumulated oil from the bed, the shells' weak affinity for oil facilitating such rejuvenation. Next, the bed is reformed and a subsequent filtration cycle is initiated.

The closure plate includes a plurality of sheets of relatively stiff but resilient material each having a plurality of equally spaced apart slits extending radially outwardly from the center thereof toward the outer edge of the sheet to form a plurality of flexible tongue segments with the slits of one sheet being offset relative to the slits of the adjacent sheet so that the tongue segments of one sheet overlap the slits of the adjacent sheet. The closure plate may be formed by casting or molding the sheets individually or by providing core plates and a molding cavity and molding a unitary structure with a layer of the stiff, resilient material on each side of each core plate, then slitting the layers to form the tongue segments and then removing the core plates.

    Abstract: A heat transfer and conditioning unit includes a casing overlying a fire chamber. An exhaust conduit is disposed within said casing inwardly of its walls having an inlet to receive heated exhaust gases and an outlet adapted to communicate with a flue to atmosphere. The exhaust conduit includes a series of pairs of opposed parallel laterally elongated plates. Inwardly directed opposed V-formed plates interconnect adjacent plates to define a series of longitudinally spaced laterally elongated venturi passages along the length of said exhaust conduit. Said venturi passages effectively slow down the movement of the products of combustion through the exhaust conduit for increased quantities of heat transfer to the walls thereof. The walls of said exhaust conduit are spaced from the casing to define an independent fresh air heating chamber along the walls of said casing and exhaust conduit for the conductive transfer of heat to the forced fresh air passing therethrough.
