Abstract: A polyurethane sealant is provided that includes a fatty acid ester that is used to replace volatile solvent in the sealant formulation and a reaction product of polyoxyalkylene polyol and polyisocyanate. The polyurethane sealant produced has a non-volatile materials content of at least 96%. In addition to reducing the volatile organic compounds (voc) content and maintaining the attributes of a sealant, the use of fatty acid esters provides the sealant with superior material extrusion, improved gunning and tooling, and improved package stability. Also provided is a method for making a polyurethane sealant where the polyisocyanate component the polyol component are combined to form a reaction product, and the reaction product is combined with the fatty acid ester component, wherein the polyurethane sealant has a non-volatile materials content of at least 96%.
Abstract: An alkali-free accelerator for sprayed cementitious composition, such as concrete, is prepared by dissolving aluminium sulphate in water and amorphous aluminium hydroxide in water optionally containing amine, and adding at least one stabiliser which is glycolic acid, and optionally at least one defoaming agent.
Abstract: A continuous paper feeder for supplying paper to be folded to a paper folding machine is provided. The continuous paper feeder includes a conveyor, a guide, a blower for introducing air between sheets of paper to be supplied to a paper folding machine, and a sensor for controlling the output of the air. The guide includes opposing first surfaces and second surfaces and a plurality of apertures communicating between the first surface and the second surfaces. The blower is adapted to introduce air through the apertures located on the guide as an operator is loading a stack of paper to be folded onto the conveyor surface.
Abstract: Cooling compounds of formula (I) wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, methyl, C1-C3 alkoxy, phenyl, C1-C3 alkylphenyl, C1-C3 alkoxyphenyl, thienyl, pyridyl, furyl, and indoyl; R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydroxyl, or R2 forms together with the carbon atom to which it is attached a carbonyl group; and R3 is selected from the group consisting of 2,4-dimethylpent-3-yl, 2,3,4-trimethylpent-3-yl, adamantyl and 2-isopropyl-5-methyl-cyclohexyl-1-yl; and, product compositions comprising them.

Abstract: A toothbrush has one or two part-spherical pockets formed in the brush surface. Balls or pellets of matching shape of dehydrated toothpaste are placed in the depressions, the brush is wetted and the pellets turn to a gel, ready for brushing. The pellets may be of various colors and flavors to entice children to brush their teeth and may be dispensed from a storage chamber carried in the tooth brush handle.
Abstract: A lightweight finish composition, method of production and a method of application are provided. The lightweight finish composition comprises a resin dispersion, alkali metal phosphate, alkylolammonium salt of a polyfunctional polymer, and lightweight aggregate such as silica spheres. The lightweight aggregate has a density and weight that is less than those of sand. The combination of alkali metal phosphate and alkylolammonium salt of a polyfunctional polymer stabilizes the lightweight finish composition by preventing the lightweight aggregate from absorbing water, after production of the lightweight finish composition.
Abstract: An improved freeze-thaw durability dry cast cementitious composition is provided that uses very small (0.1 ?m to 100 ?m average diameter) polymeric microspheres that are blended directly into the mixture and optionally gas-generating additives. The polymeric microspheres provide void spaces in the material matrix that act to increase freeze-thaw durability of the material. In this dry cast cementitious composition, polymeric microspheres act as pre-formed voids.

Abstract: A device for treatment of exhaust gases includes a housing, a fragile structure resiliently mounted within the housing, and a non-intumescent mounting mat disposed in a gap between the housing and the fragile structure. The mounting mat includes a plurality of inorganic fibers that have undergone a surface treatment to increase the holding force performance of the mounting mat. Also disclosed are methods of making a mounting mat for an exhaust gas treatment device and for making an exhaust gas treatment device incorporating the mounting mat.
Abstract: A corrosion-resistant lath is provided for use in exterior finishing systems, such as stucco systems and exterior insulation and finish systems (“EIFS”). The lath includes in a first embodiment an open, woven fabric comprising weft and warp yarns containing non-metallic fibers, such as glass fibers. A portion of the weft yarns are undulated, resulting in an increased thickness for the fabric. The fabric is coated with a polymeric resin for substantially binding the weft yarns in the undulated condition. This invention also includes methods for making an exterior finish system and building wall including an exterior finish system using such a lath.

Abstract: A tool and method for making precision cuts with conventional saws and other woodworking machines. The shape of an inside or outside corner of a construction, such as a wall construction, is obtained with the tool, and the tool is used to as a guide to set the blade of the cutting apparatus to the proper cutting position. The tool may be used to indicate the mitre cuts for both inside and outside wall corners without having to measure the angle with a measuring tool and determine the precise degrees of the angles to be cut.
