Abstract: Disclosed is a method for packaging a number of disc-like information recording media each having a hole at its center portion. The disc-like information recording media are collected with the holes thereof being aligned with each other to form a cylindrical assembly with a through-hole, and an elongated member is inserted into the through-hole and a pair of collars are set on the elongated member from both ends thereof so as to fix the cylindrical assembly with respect to the elongated member. Thereafter, the cylindrical assembly is wrapped by a shrinkable material and encased in a container comprising upper and lower halves each having at least one assembly-receiving portion with a configuration substantially equal in dimension to the semicylindrical half portion of the cylindrical assembly. The container has an engaging arrangement comprising L-shaped extending portions and L-shaped shelf portions so that the upper and lower halves are stably coupled to each other.

  • Patent number: 4827445
Abstract: The system provides a relatively inexpensive raster-scan type graphics system capable of real time operation, utilizing logic-enhanced pixels within an image buffer, permitting parallel (simultaneous) calculations at every pixel. A typical implementation would be as custom VLSI chips. Each cell of the image buffer corresponds to a pixel of the display, and a processor at each cell enables calculation of the pixel color and the like for each polygon in the image covering that same pixel (cell) of the display. In the sequence of most general applications, each polygon is operated upon in sequence, and the image is built up as the polygons are processed without the necessity of sorting.

  • Patent number: 4825836
Abstract: A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine provided with a turbo-charger and an ignition retard control system responsive to a signal from knocking sensor for controlling knocking. A system is provided for attaining a fuel enrichment correction at a predetermined range of engine conditions for preventing an increase in a temperature of the exhaust gas. The enrichment is delayed for a predetermined period after moving into that range, to obtain a high fuel economy. A system is further provided for cancelling the enrichment delay when the engine is under a particular condition where the exhaust gas temperature is very apt to be increased. Such a condition is detected by an enrichment correction value or ignition retard correction value which is larger than a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 4826279
Abstract: An optical fiber unit for forming high-density optical cables in optical communication networks includes a core body having a twisted tensile strength member extended along the central axis thereof, spiral grooves in the outer surface thereof, and tape-shaped optical fibers placed in the spiral grooves of the core body, with the twist direction of the twisted member and the spiral direction of the grooves being opposite one another. Thus, when the core body is under tension, the angular moment produced in the tensile strength member and that produced in the ribs formed between the spiral grooves are opposite in direction and equal in magnitude, whereby the angular moment of the entire core body is substantially zero. As a result, the optical fiber residual strain produced during manufacture can be controlled with high precision.

  • Patent number: 4827512
Abstract: According to a portable medium (IC card) of this invention, a memory area is divided into a system program area and a user program area. A text transmitted between the IC card and a host system connected thereto includes a command text and a response text. The command or response text includes a flag indicating that the text is written in the user program area or the system program area. The memory area has a conversion table for a function code and the start address of a program corresponding to the function code.
