  • Patent number: 8276332
Abstract: Prefabricated insulation wall panels for construction of a concrete wall include two elongated studs, each having a planar web section and inner and outer flanges, and one or two insulation boards vertically disposed between the two studs. The web section includes multiple through-holes spaced apart in the body portion of the stud, disposed off center in a transverse direction and closer to the inner flange than to the outer flange. The insulation board is thinner than the width of the wed section. The inner surface of the insulation board is disposed against the inner flanges of the studs, with two side edges of the insulation board covering the through-holes on the web section of each stud, thus establishing a distance between the outer surface of the insulation board and the outer flanges of the studs through the body portion of the studs.

  • Patent number: 8256361
Abstract: A grill consisting of liquid-cooled grill plates and liquid-cooled lateral panels, the surfaces of which are provided with wear plates (1) connected to the liquid-cooled grill plates (2) and lateral planks in a heat-conducting manner. Wear plates (1) consist of a wear-resistant material which must however be cooled. Advantageously, a layer of a heat-conducting material in the form of a highly heat-conducting soft silicon film (3) is clamped between the liquid-cooled grill plates (2) and lateral panels and the wear plates (1), the layer providing a good heat transfer between the wear plates (1) and the permeable grill plates (2) and central panels. It is thus ensured that, during operation, the wear plates (1) always remain in a non-critical temperature range as they are cooled by the underlying grill plates (2) and lateral panels which are cooled to ca. 50° C.

  • Patent number: 7754487
Abstract: A linearity control system includes a series of linearity control compositions, each thereof includes white blood cell analogs and stabilized red blood cells in a suspension medium. The concentration of the white blood cell analogs in the series of control compositions increases from 0.2×103 to 800×103 analogs per microliter, and the concentration of the white blood cell analogs in at least one control composition is greater than 120×103 analogs per microliter. The stabilized red blood cells facilitate mono-dispersion of the white blood cell analogs in the suspension medium by gently mixing. The control compositions further include platelet analogs, or additionally include reticulocyte and/or nucleated red blood cell analogs. The linearity control system allows the verification of the reportable measurement range and linearity of the measurements of hematology analyzers for white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets in extended concentration ranges.

  • Patent number: 7482165
Abstract: Methods of prevention and correction of white blood cell interferences to the measurements of mean cell volume (MCV), red blood cell concentration (RBC) and hematocrit (Hct) of a blood sample are disclosed. The interference to MCV can be prevented by identifying a valley between the red blood cell and white blood cell modes on the red blood cell distribution histogram, defining a red blood cell region using the valley and calculating MCV within the defined region. Alternatively, a curve fit of the white blood cell population on the red blood cell distribution histogram can be used to exclude the white blood cells. RBC can be corrected by subtracting the white blood cell concentration obtained from the analysis of a second aliquot sample, when the white blood cell concentration (WBC) exceeds a predetermined criterion. Hct of the blood sample can be calculated using the obtained MCV and RBC.
