Abstract: A system arrangement including a memory unit having a memory interface in accordance with a handshake-free protocol between the memory and an accessing master, a bus connected to the memory unit and first and second masters. The first master operative to access the memory unit through the bus and the memory interface and operative to perform interrupts following reception of an interrupt request through an interrupt interface. The second master operative to access the memory unit through the bus and memory interface. The second master being configured to transfer an interrupt request to the first processor before accessing the memory unit.
Abstract: A method for communication includes accepting a request from a transmitter to transmit data to a receiver in a multiple-access communication system that uses multiple subcarriers. A maximum number of the subcarriers on which the transmitter may transmit the data simultaneously without violating a predetermined signal power criterion is calculated. The transmitter is allocated a time-frequency allocation containing the maximum number of the subcarriers. The data is transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver using the allocated time-frequency allocation.
Abstract: A method of delivering a video stream, including encoding a video stream into a first encoded stream and selecting encoding parameter values for subsequent transcoding the first encoded stream into a specific second encoded stream. Furthermore, the method includes transmitting the first encoded stream with the selected encoding parameter values to a transcoder over a standard communication network, transcoding the first encoded stream into a second encoded stream having the selected parameter values and forwarding the second encoded stream.
Abstract: A signal processing method includes sampling an analog signal, which has a spectral density defining one or more bands, to produce a digitized signal. A spectral transform of the digitized signal is expressed as a matrix multiplied by a vector, wherein the vector includes multiple elements that represent the spectral density of the analog signal as a function of frequency within respective spectral slices. Indices of a subset of the elements of the vector, in which the spectral density is concentrated, is determined. The analog signal is reconstructed from the digitized signal using the subset of the elements of the vector and a corresponding subset of columns of the matrix having the indices.

Abstract: A method for communication using a modulation scheme defined in a signal space includes determining demodulation confidence levels at a plurality of points distributed over the signal space. Weights are assigned to the respective points responsively to the demodulation confidence levels. A signal is received and demodulated using an adaptive loop so as to derive a corresponding signal point in the signal space. The adaptive loop is adjusted responsively to a weight assigned to the derived signal point.
