Abstract: A method and system for enabling a user or bidder to purchase an option on auction merchandise or services in an online auction are provided, thus allowing the option winner to purchase the merchandise in the event the original auction bidder (i.e., the highest bidder for the merchandise) defaults on his purchase. The method and system also provides an incentive to the users purchasing the option(s), e.g., bid optionees, by partially distributing the option pool of monies collected to the user who purchases the option at the price closest to the final auction price.
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for managing multimedia traffic across a common wireless communication network. Embodiments may include content devices, end point devices, a network node, and a wireless dongle. The network node and the wireless dongle may have application functions transmitting and receiving application data streams including a video application. The video application may include a conversion engine to compress, expand, or convert video data. Further, both the network node and the wireless dongle may transmit downstream video streams and receive upstream video streams. In addition, the network node may have a master controller function and a node management function, and a dongle management function each managing video traffic streams and application data streams. In addition, the dongle management function controls admission of a video traffic stream originating from the wireless dongle to the wireless communication network.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for providing increased security when multiplexing one or more services at customer premises. Such systems and devices may include one or more virtual machines that support a service, a service operating system, protocol functions, and protocol security functions including system, devices, and methods for, analyzing protocol data and generating protocol security data. In addition, the system, devices, and methods provide an administration function for each virtual machine that allows monitoring the protocol security data and provides a protocol alerting mechanism that reports protocol security trigger events. Moreover, the system, devices, and methods have a common layer providing a common operating system and common security functions. The protocol security functions and common security function utilize conventional and fuzzy logic rules to generate protocol security data and common security data.
