Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for maximizing interference contrast in an interferometric quantum cryptography system to detect eavesdropping by utilizing a tunable emitter station in communications with a receiver station via a quantum communications channel and a “public” communications channel. The tunable emitter station tracks and compensates for interferometer drifts by adjusting the interference contrast of the QC system to minimize or eliminate inherent perturbations induced into key bit transmissions. Tuning of the photo emitter's output wavelength is accomplishable using temperature and/or drive current adjustment of the emitter's tunable optical subsystem.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a glass seal for attaching an attached part (2) to a glass pane (3) of a motor vehicle, having a mounting profile (1) comprising a mounting arm (4) contacting the surface (5) of the glass pane (3), and a latching profile (7) for receiving an attachment element (8) of the attached part (2), characterized in that the mounting profile is designed such that a lower force is required for assembling the attached part (2) than for removing the same. The invention further relates to an arrangement of a glass seal according to the invention having a glass pane (3) of a motor vehicle, an attached part (2), or a water tank cover (2).

Abstract: A wood concrete composite system (100, 200) has a wood construction component (110, 111, 112, 210, 211), an intermediate layer (140, 141, 142, 143, 230, 231, 232) and a concrete construction unit (150, 151, 152, 240, 241). The concrete construction unit (150, 151, 152, 240, 241) has at least one side which faces the wood construction component (110, 111, 112, 210, 211). Thus at least single intermediate layer (140, 141, 142, 143, 230, 231, 232) creates at least a partial separation between the wood and concrete.
Abstract: Connection device having at least one receiving building component, in particular a wooden body (1), which comprises at least a retention recess (2), in particular a continuous retention recess, and having a composite body (3) which is inserted into the retention recess (2) in the wooden body (1), wherein a composite mass (4) is curably inserted in an interstice (7) in the retention recess (2) between the wooden body (1) and the inserted composite body (3) such that the composite body is substantially frictionally secured in said retention recess (2), wherein an intermediate layer (5), in particular as a formation of the surface of the composite body and/or the composite mass, is at least partially provided between the composite body and the composite mass, providing at least partial decoupling of the composite mass from the composite body.
