  • Patent number: 6204482
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for cooling the exterior of a toaster oven. The toaster oven has a cooking chamber and a product slide within an exterior casing. Outside air is forced into a channel formed between (1) the product slide and the exterior casing and (2) the cooking chamber and a corresponding portion of the exterior casing. The forced air is then directed out of the channel into a food pre-heating area outside the cooking chamber.

  • Patent number: 6188992
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus, method and system for managing investments having one or more characteristics. The present invention creates three or more investment agents, each investment agent having one or more characteristics, and selects an investment for each investment agent by comparing the investment agent's one or more characteristics to the investment's one or more characteristics. • Patent number: 6185555
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and computer program for managing data by storing one or more data records in a database, creating a management plan having one or more states, selecting one or more data records from the database and assigning each of the selected data records to an initial state in the management plan, updating the values of the one or more elements of each data record with new data, and moving each selected data record to the next state whenever the trigger value matches the updated value of the trigger element. Each data record has one or more elements. Each state has one or more rules. Each rule has a trigger element, a trigger value and a next state.

  • Patent number: 6138578
Abstract: A ventilated transportable freight container is disclosed. The container is ventilated by natural convection through at least one lower side vent comprising a lower plenum chamber for distributing air into the container and restricting entry of moisture in the form of rain, sleet or snow into the container and at least one upper top vent, including a plenum chamber. The upper top vent or vents may be formed in the sidewall of the enclosure or in the roof of the enclosure depending upon the structure of the container and the particular application. The use of one or more upper top vents enhances circulation of air by natural convection. The invention also incorporates sidewall and endwall spacers extending from the sidewalls and endwalls into the enclosure to provide passageways for the circulation of air to ventilate the enclosure and a path for condensation drainage. In one embodiment of the invention, the transportable freight container of present invention comprises a rail freight car.

  • Patent number: 5943424
Abstract: An architecture for processing a plurality of transactions from a single point of initiation is disclosed. The initiating computer selects a terminal identification token, and associates the token with a transaction request, thereby ensuring the association of the transaction with a unique terminal identification despite being originated by the same terminal. The tokens are obtained from a token table, which contains a row for each token defined to the system. The table includes a column for the token, a column that identifies a system with which the token may be used, and a column that identifies a date and time field indicating when a particular token was selected for use. A null value in the date-time field indicates that the token for that row is not in use. A query operation selects a token with a null date-time value, and a set operation sets the date-time value to the then-current time to mark it in use.
