Patent number: 6802225Abstract: A differential-pressure flow sensor for airflow measurement in the presence of water condensation, for use with mechanical ventilators. The pressure-sensing ports at either end of the interfering body are displaced from the inner surface of the surrounding tubing, so as to prevent obstruction of the pressure-sensing ports by free flowing condensed water. The leading edge of the interfering body is angulated so as to deflect airflow towards the pressure-sensing port on the trailing edge of the interfering body, thereby flushing water droplets away from the port. The sides of the interfering body are sloped so as to generate turbulent boundary layer airflow at areas distant from the pressure-sensing ports, thereby encouraging water condensation away from the ports.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2002Date of Patent: October 12, 2004Assignee: Versamed Medical Systems Ltd.Inventors: Mark Shahar, Boaz Misholi, Sajed Haj-Yahya

Patent number: 6763097Abstract: A communication system includes a plurality of subscribers having a telephone set and different types of home modems coupled using twisted pairs to a local server that includes a plurality of downstream repeaters, a central office coupled to a local server using twisted pair subscriber lines. The central office includes a telephone switch that provides telephone service to the subscribers and a concentrator that connects a plurality of upstream repeaters with a number of office modems that provide data service to the subscriber. A communication system uses CAP or DMT line signals with time division. The line signal transmits with different time framing. Every subscriber line can work in one of three operation modes Asymmetrical mode, Half-Asymmetrical mode, and Symmetrical mode.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2001Date of Patent: July 13, 2004Assignee: Coppergate Communications Ltd.Inventor: Roman Vitenberg

Patent number: 6622137Abstract: A decision operation tree (“DO Tree”) according to the present invention is a logical tree representation of decision making rules and actions instituted according to those rules. In preferred embodiments of the invention, one or more DO Trees are tailored to serve a user's rating and billing system needs. According to the present invention, Do Trees are comprised of a plurality of nodes and branches, which branches connect the nodes together in a descending relationship. Any node may have defined for it one or more actions (whose implementation can be prioritized or ordered) which are triggered whenever the node is reached. Those nodes having branches stemming (“descending”) from them have two parameters, a Decision Attribute and a Branching Type, which defines the node's relationship with its descending branches. Upon occurrence of the predefined event, the method includes proceeds from node to node, and optionally performs one or more actions in each node.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2000Date of Patent: September 16, 2003Assignee: Formula Telecom Solutions Ltd.Inventors: Liran Ravid, Oren Avital

Patent number: 6553242Abstract: A method and device for measurement of a level of at least one blood constituent. The device includes a light source and a light detector proximate the surface of an organ. The device also includes a pair of adjustable gain amplifiers and a processor/controller connected within a processing unit. The processing unit operates to separate an AC signal component from a DC signal component. The light source includes at least one light emitting unit. Preferably, the light source alternatingly emits light at two different wavelength ranges and normalizes the AC and DC output signals corresponding with the intensity of the light reflected from the organ and calculates a ratio of the normalized signals for each wavelength range. The device may determine the level of the blood constituent and may also use this level for monitoring and/or to activate an alarm when the level falls outside a predetermined range.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2000Date of Patent: April 22, 2003Assignee: S.P.O. Medical Equipment Ltd.Inventor: Israel Sarussi

Patent number: 6514203Abstract: A method and apparatus for achieving ultrasonic coronary thrombolysis. After intravenous injection of a thrombus-specific ultrasound contrast agent, an array of ultrasonic transducers arranged in a pad placed on the patient's chest transmits ultrasound signals into the patient, from a virtual source. Reflected signals are then analyzed to determine the ratio of the second (or hall) harmonic to first harmonic components in the signals. A high ratio indicates the presence of a thrombus in the field of interrogation Time-of-flight data for each of the receivers is used to calculate a spatial location of the thrombus, and a phased array ultrasonic transmission is then focused on the thrombus, so as to achieve sonoparation.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2001Date of Patent: February 4, 2003Assignee: Sonata Technologies Ltd.Inventor: Shmuel Bukshpan
