  • Patent number: 5937633
Abstract: The present invention includes an intercooled cycle gas turbine. The intercooled cycle gas turbine is supercharged to improve performance. Pereformance is defined in terms of thermal efficiency and mass specific power, the turbine defining a cycle with a peak cycle pressure and a peak cycle temperature. The turbine includes an intercooler for intercooling the turbine, wherein placement of the intercooler within the cycle divides the cycle into a first compression stage and a second compression stage. The intercooler placement r=1/2 ln P.sub.super /ln(P.sub.peak /P.sub.super). The first compression stage and the second compression stage have an unequal pressure ratio.

  • Patent number: 5676244
Abstract: The present invention relates to a container for storing a quantity of cereal and milk, the container including an upper section, a lower section, a partition separating the upper and lower sections, and a spoon. The upper section has a vent hole therein. The lower section defines a second cavity dimensioned to contain a quantity of cereal therein. The lower section has two channels formed therein, the channels having a wide end and a narrow end. The partition is secured to the upper section forming a milk cavity for holding a quantity of milk therein. The partition is provided with a pair of ports therethrough which are adapted to permit the flow of milk out from the milk cavity. The partition is equipped with a pair of post members formed thereon. The post members have bulb shaped post heads at one end which are adapted to be received in the wide end of the channels in the lower section to releasably secure the two sections together.

  • Patent number: 5595202
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for securing umbrella material to an umbrella rib end. The device includes a cap member having an external wall and an internal wall, the internal wall defining an internal bore having an opening at a distal of the internal wall; a pair of cooperating jaw members pivotally attached to one another, the jaw members have opposing gripping portions, the jaw members movable between an open position in which the gripping portions are spaced from one another and a closed position in which the gripping portions are approximated; and a flexible cord slidably secured through the cap member, the cap member connected at one end to one of the jaw members and at the other end to the other jaw member.

  • Patent number: 5312070
Abstract: A segmented variable sweep wing for an aircraft has a plurality of wing segments. A structural device movably affixes the wing segments to the fuselage of the aircraft adjacent each other at their root areas. The structural device moves the segments conjointly to a power position where the segments are perpendicular to the fuselage and spaced from each other. The structural device also moves the segments conjointly to a cruise position wherein the segments are swept back at an angle with the fuselage and in abutment with each other thereby forming a unitary continuous surface airfoil.
