  • Patent number: 4781498
Abstract: This invention relates to a load retainer and retention means for said load retainer for use in a transport vehicle so that the load retainer can be moved to any desired location within a transport vehicle but cannot be readily removed from said transport vehicle. Further, the retainer can be removably connected to opposing walls of the transport vehicle to provide a partition between different loads and to retain said loads in a particular position. The retainer has three parallel flexible belts that extend from side to side and are interconnected by a rectangular sheet of durable material. Each belt has two ends with hooks thereon. Each belt corresponds with support tracks on either side of the transport vehicle, the support tracks having a series of similar openings therein. The hooks can be inserted within the openings and the belts tightened so that the retainer is held in a fixed position within the transport vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4774795
Abstract: An expansion joint has a seal with symmetrical ridges located on either side. One support extends on each side of the seal and each support has a base and cover that together contain a channel. Each channel is formed from a groove in each of the base and cover, each groove having side walls that continuously diverge from one another to an open face of said groove. The channel is of similar size and shape, but slightly smaller than the ridge so that each ridge is held snugly under pressure in each of the channels. The peculiar shape of the channel allows the supports to be bend in a vertical or horizontal plane while maintaining the channel intact.

  • Patent number: 4773599
Abstract: A series of screens for use with a size reduction machine have a tapered apertured wall formed into a frusto-conical shape, with an open wide end and a narrow closed end. All screens of a particular series have a cylindrical section, the same interior depth, outside diameter and angle of the tapered wall. Despite variations in the material wall thickness, screens of the same series are interchangeable on a size reduction machine and the gap can remain constant without any adjustment to the impeller. Further, a size reduction machine has means external to the machine providing for infinite adjustments to the gap. With previous machines, each time that a screen of a different thickness was used, it was necessary to make an adjustment to the gap in order to maintain the same gap. Further, when an adjustment to the gap is required, that is accomplished by removing the screen and impeller from the machine and inserting spacers onto the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4764109
Abstract: An oven for heat treating, curing, stress relieving or otherwise treating objects within the oven has side walls that can be moved into contact and out of contact with side edges of a movable floor. All interior surfaces of the oven are insulated and, when the floor is located in the oven, the side walls can be moved so that the insulation on the side walls forms a sealed relationship with the insulation along the adjacent side edges of the floor. A door of the oven can then be closed. When the door is opened, the side walls can be moved out of contact with the floor and the floor can be removed. Preferably, the side walls are moved by the operation of pneumatic cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4734021
Abstract: A machine for building a dome or sphere has an extruder that extrudes part of a wall of a dome or sphere from fluid material which hardens on extrusion as the extruder travels around a center axis. A ramp allows the extruder to gradually ride up onto the initial wall so that another partial wall of the sphere can be formed. The extruder continuously moves along its own produced track in a spiral path to ultimately form a dome or sphere, as desired.
