  • Patent number: 4335421
Abstract: A light fixture having an optically diffusive viewing element having a viewing area across which apparent uniform brightness is achieved from a conventional light source and reflector by utilization of a light aperture. The light aperture comprises a tralucent substrate to which a plurality of reflective surfaces are affixed so as to partially redirect light incident thereon back to the reflector. Apparent uniform brightness of the light fixture viewing area is derived by a unique method of dividing the light from the light source into varying portions of direct and indirect illumination through the light aperture as well as direct illumination from the light source and indirect reflection from the reflector to the viewing area.

  • Patent number: 4326954
Abstract: A fluid treating apparatus comprising an elongated non-magnetic tube having opposite ends. An insulated wire is wound in multilayered closely packed helical fashion about the tube between its opposite ends. The adjacent turns of the wire are electrically insulated from each other and the tube. The wound wire is enscapsulated in a protective covering which envelopes the wire and a portion of the non-magnetic tube. In a specific embodiment, an indicator is incorporated with the device to indicate when the wire is energized.

  • Patent number: 4294381
Abstract: A material dispenser for dispensing a flowable material from a non-pressurized reservoir having a bore therethrough. A resilient pinch-off tube is removably fitted within the bore. The flowable material reservoir is connected to one end of the tube. At least one dispensing nozzle or needle is coupled to the other end of the tube. Within the dispenser is a mechanism for selectively squeezing the tube to force selected amounts of the flowable material out the needle, and then to draw material from the reservoir into the tube to fill the tube and/or any residual amount of the material in the needle back away from the distal end of the needle thereby to eliminate dripping.

  • Patent number: 4224206
Abstract: An essentially linear polymer having a plurality of amide, imide and ester groups therein, which is the condensation product of (1) at least one polycarboxylic acid imide-forming reactant, (2) at least one ethylenically unsaturated polycarboxylic acid carboxypyrrolidone-forming reactant, (3) at least one polycarboxylic acid ester-forming reactant, (4) at least one glycoly, (5) at least one other polyfunctional hydroxyl compound, and (6) at least one polyfunctional amino compound having at least one primary amine group thereon. The equivalent molar ratio of the functional hydroxyl groups of the glycols and hydroxyl compounds to the functional ester-forming carboxyl groups of the acid reactants is from about 1.0 to 1 to about 3.0 to 1.
