    Abstract: A shroud for use in combination with a septic tank having an access opening and an access cover. The shroud surrounds the access opening and facilitates removal of the access cover covering the access opening and providing access to the septic tank. The shroud comprises a contiguous sidewall opened at first and second opposed ends thereof with an access passageway extending therebetween. A first open end of the shroud has an annular surface for abutting engagement with a top surface of a septic tank. A retaining member retains the annular surface, at the first end of the shroud, in abutting engagement with the top surface of the septic tank. A removable shroud cover seals the second open end of the shroud and the shroud cover, when removed from the second end of the shroud, facilitates access an interior cavity of the septic tank.

The shifting operation is divided into various shifting phases, an engine intervention taking place in the load-transfer (LÜ) of the gradient-setting phase (GE), the sliding phase (GL), the gradient-reduction phase (GA) and the closing phase (S), an engine torque and/or a characteristic value that determines the engine torque being transferred from the transmission control device to an engine control device of the prime mover.

A valve member is positioned on the valve seat end of the float. A liquids inlet is provided at the second end of the tubular housing.

    Abstract: A motor vehicle suspension system includes rear suspension units to adjust ride height between sprung and unsprung parts of the vehicle, control means for monitoring and maintaining ride height at a particular setting and wheel speed monitoring means for monitoring wheel speeds. The control means provides a corrective up height change signal in the event of an unrequested height change and there existed before the unrequested height change a wheel speed signal indicative of vehicle movement. The corrective height change signal may be applied to each suspension unit or the control means may monitor abnormal vehicle activity and provide the corrective height change signal to the appropriate suspension unit. One example of abnormal vehicle activity is when the wheel speeds differ significantly, the control means responding to provide the corrective height change signal to the suspensions unit on the side of the vehicle with the highest wheel speed.

    Abstract: A composite biosorption material is formed of a hydrophilic urethane binder containing immobilized bioactive organisms of at least about one micron in size and having active sites for binding and removing noxious materials such as metal ions from an effluent such as a waste water stream. To form the composite, a prepolymer is prepared by heating polyethylene glycol, having an average molecular weight of about 1000, to over 200.degree. F. up to 350.degree. F., preferably greater than 220.degree. F., and reacting a diisocyanate with the heated polyethylene glycol while mixing to form the prepolymer. After cooling, the prepolymer is mixed with an aqueous slurry containing the organisms such as Datura innoxia cells, and optionally a surfactant and bactericide, in a weight ratio such as 1:1 to 6:1, and the resultant mixture is cured to form the composite material containing a dry weight of the organisms such as about 15% to 90%.

    Abstract: The chain of an electromotive chain saw is quickly stopped by the combined use of an electric brake and a mechanical brake when a trigger member is turned off. The rear end of a brake band disposed to tighten a brake drum by operating a hand guard is secured to a bent rod. When the trigger member is released, the brake band is normally tightened around the outer periphery of a brake drum by the urging force of a coil spring. When the trigger member is released, a circuit provided with a brake winding is closed, thereby applying a dynamic braking force. When the dynamic brake force is applied, a centrifugal clutch is released quickly and the speed of stopping the brake drum is accelerated.
