Abstract: A method for receiving and shipping vehicles or other manufactured items in which the items are assigned several identification numbers and in which the transport conveyances and/or railcars are similarly and respectively assigned several identification numbers. These identification numbers cooperatively allow the vehicles to be quickly located within a storage yard facility and to be efficiently and accurately assigned to a transport vehicle or railcar, effective to allow the vehicles to be transported to a desired destination.
Abstract: Within a method for predicting customer satisfaction for a transportation vehicle there is measured for the transportation vehicle a Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) level within the transportation vehicle when an engine which powers the transportation vehicle is operating at wide open throttle. The method further provides for determining a customer satisfaction value for a specific transportation vehicle by means of interpolation or extrapolation from an existing correlation for a group of transportation vehicles within the same class. Such a correlation is obtained employing a Transformed Gamma Distribution (TGD) model or an aggregate combination of Transformed Gamma Distribution (TGD) models.
Abstract: A non-contacting transmission range sensor system, which includes a control device, is disclosed. The system includes a shaft coupled to the control device. A non-contacting range sensor, coupled to the shaft, generates a pulse-width modulated signal in response to rotation of the shaft. A control module, electrically attached to the non-contacting range sensor, is subject to receive the pulse-width modulated signal.
